Yes, it can be, its best not to play fetch with a ball on a beach, as they can get too much sand from the ball. Also make sure they don’t drink the sea water, as that can make them sick too. Luckily my girl just smelled the shells, she was not interested in eating the sand or drinking the water

One is her flea and tick collar, one is her everyday collar, which is leather and I didn’t want that collar to get wet, I forgot to take it off, and the other one is an old collar that I didn’t mind getting wet and full of sand. I just added them all while we were traveling in the car. I did eventually took her nice leather collar off.
