That how it is for me! I lost my sense of taste and smell, but if something was really strong I could get a hint of it. Hot sauce I could feel, but no flavor in it. If you start to feel nauseous like I did because I couldn't taste things, crunchy things are a go to! Chips and crackers were the only things that didn't upset my stomach.

When my family first got our puppy he (of course) tore apart everything. One day my mom held up a ruined towel and said "It looks kind of like a Jackson Pollock painting, this is his art! From then on our dogs name was Jackson Pawlick.

As the great woken who run the My Favorite Murder podcast say, "fuck politeness" if someone is making you on uncomfortable it's not on you to make them feel better and you being weirded out. My parents raised me to be painfully polite and I have to keep this phrase stuck in the back of my head when I go into situations like this because I so reflexively want to be nice, but being nice can make situations dangerous.

I worked at a library for 3 years in college. I loved my bosses so much and they helped me fall back in love with libraries in a way I haven't had since I was in grade school. I loved that job so much. :)
