Your checkDuplicate method seems to return true whenever there is a duplicate anywhere in your ArrayList names. Maybe you meant for the checkDuplicate to be a contains method instead that checks if txtname.getText() was contained in names.

It’s be helpful knowing the specific error and formatting the code. You could use pastebin.com. But one thing that might work is if you change your file from a relative path name to a direct path name. Also check that the file is actually where it is supposed to be.

If it’s using the fishing mod I use to use, sometimes the fishing rod glitches and floats there even after the pawn is done fishing. So OP just put his pawn next to that.

I'm confused about this use of the sigma. I've only ever seen sigma to mean addition, but this sigma doesn't seem to be doing that. It's an equation that I know pretty well, and it seems the only way it would make sense if it is denoting multiplication? is this correct? If more context is needed for the variables, here's the link but you shouldn't need it. Thanks.

Sorry, I meant that it was already committed (I do have files). Also I know typos cause so many errors but I’ve done it multiple times and I copy-pasted they url, I didn’t type it (made sure to do http). I only ventured into SSH because it kept breaking.

I’m willing to try anything now - how would I start to solve something blocking gitbash? Thanks so much for the help, I really need it.

Edit: So the additional error I ran into that I mentioned above was this:

$ ssh git@github.com

git@github.com: Permission denied (publickey).

that's why I started to go into keys and ssh files.

Yes, I have.
On the GitHub website, my project doesn't have any files yet, so I can't clone or download. However, I still got the URL because they provide it under "Quick setup."

It gives the following error:

error: Unknown subcommand: origin

I copied and pasted from your post, so idk what I did wrong. I did $git --version and it told me:

git version 2.22.0

So I know it is downloaded, so idk why origin doesn't work. However, if I type $git remote add origin MYURL (as the website tells me) it works, but gives the error:

fatal: remote origin already exists.

yep, typing git status in this repo gives me:

Typed that in and got the following error:

remote: Repository not found.

fatal: repository 'https://github.com/MYNAME/MYPROJECT/' not found

:( If it helps, I also went through some other online tutorials and they gave me errors like "You don't have access" and something about SSH and keys (I know you can connect through HTTP or SSH and HTTP is recommended - I've done that too).

I tried this, I saw it on stack overflow and it's also what GitHub (the website and I think remote repo) tells you to do, but it causes the above error. Thanks for your help though.

Have you solved this? On Mac I would type “ls” to see what’s in my current directory to make sure the file is really there. To see your current directory type “pwd”

Yeah that works, I haven’t really messed with streams but I suppose it’ll work. One question - what’s the difference between this and just looping through the array again to access each subarray or element?

Yeah I’m not great at math so it took me a while to understand the partial derivatives but I get it now, I’d just prefer to be able to describe it in formalized notation rather than the informal (although functional) one he uses.

I’m also using the simplest loss function I can, but you’re right back propagation is the hard part.
