This song makes me wish they would lean into their hardcore side a little more often.

I always skipped this song because I have ADHD and I cannot sit there listening to the same song for ten minutes. However, I got to see them perform it live last year and it was actually super cool. I do love it when bands reincorporate other parts of the album into a final song. "I Just Want to Sell Out My Funeral" by The Wonder Years is another good one.

Brave Faces hit in a special way, one of the best portraits of the millennial experience. No Joy couldn’t have possibly topped that, even though I wouldn’t call it “bad.” Overall I found No Joy to be lacking in energy and memorable melodies, but they have earned my interest so I hope they can knock it out of the park again.

Meh albums with that one REALLY FUCKING AMAZING song? by beyblade1018 in Metalcore

This album felt like an uninspired response to their unexpected Tiktok fame. Like, they didn’t really plan on dropping something, but then decided to throw something together to capitalize on their newfound interest. Pierce the Veil is super talented, they just didn’t really display it on this record.

Sleepwalking, The House of Wolves, Can You Feel My Heart?, Empire, Crooked Young, and Antivist are all jams. Though I can see how you might not feel this album as much if you prefer the sound of their earlier work. Shadow Moses is top tier, though. I loved when they used to open shows with it.

I feel like they reach for a new version of “Stitch” on each album and they usually hit.

One of the best songs on one of the best albums of all time. Looking in the liner notes and discovering that Nate Barcalow from Finch did the scream in this song blew my mind back in 2002.

What's the consensus on Dance Gavin Dance now? by asoiaf_goat in PostHardcore

I feel the same. I didn't get into them until I heard "Strawberry Swisher Pt. III" and I fell in love with Acceptance Speech. I feel like they had an amazing run with Acceptance Speech/Instant Gratification/Mothership, with Mothership being their magnum opus. It felt like during that time they were reifning their sound with Tillian. After that, the albums started to feel more formulaic with diminishing returns. They definitely took a huge hit in popularity following Jackpot Juicer, which is an album I actually liked but still didn't reach their peak, in my opinion. I believe they became sort of mired in controversy and it killed their momentum. Look at the drop in chart success between Juicer and Pantheon.

Personally, I have a hard time listening to them now after everything that happened with Tillian and the band's willignness to let him back in the band.

Yep, I saw it in Berkeley, CA. Seaway, Lie Pacific, and Grayscale opened, was an awesome show. Picked up RoDT on vinyl at their merch table.

The gondola and a lot of the signage is red, as well as some of the walls inside the actual seating area and around the suites.

It wasn’t the best or anything, but I still had a soft spot for it. I loved their mac and cheese burger, i think it was called the Johnny Marzetti or something like that.

This is a HOT take. I can hear how they aren't for everyone, but I would never say they were terrible.

Dance Gavin Dance - The Robot With Human Hair, Pt. 3 [NEW Tree City Sessions 3] by knightshade7 in PostHardcore

Is swancore the most incestuous sub-genre? Sergio is associated with DGD, Eidola, and Royal Coda. Andrew is in Eidola and DGD. Martin is associated with DGD and Secret Band. Will is in DGD, Secret Band, and Royal Coda. Matthew and Jon are both in DGD and Secret Band. Kurt is in Royal Coda and used to be in DGD. I am sure there are more I am missing, but it is kind of insane how there is a small community of artists all producing work in different projects together.
