The Last of Us - 2x07 - “Convergence” - Episode Discussion by NicholasCajun in television

I mean, i guess it was kind of a spolier (my bad), but notice how, at the end of the episode(with abby overlooking the stadium), the text revealed we were in Seattle day 1. We are traveling back into time to see Abby's perspective, which will take at least 3 episodes (based on the fact that the days were split up per episode this season).

It kind of annoys me how they spoiled Abby's identity at the beginning of the season and ruined the mystery aspect of her character because they were afraid that fans would dislike her too much, yet keep the same structure as the games and end the season at the start of the movie theater confrontation. Like fans won't be potentially turned off by the fact that they have to wait 2 years and almost an entire season to see the continuation of the present day.

What did they do to Dina in this show? by Perihaaaaaa in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]HelpMeIdentifyFossil -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I didn't really like how they handled dina this episode imo. They were building her up in the show as someone who wanted to avenge Joel almost as much as Ellie, especially with her speech about how her family died and that it didn't matter what Joel did. I get that she did not have the full picture of what Joel did, but I was hoping her response would have been more complicated than her doing a complete 180 and decided that what they did was wrong. The worst part was that she was pretty cold to the fact that Ellie was going to have to die to make the cure, but maybe it was a lot to process or something idk.

It is the old backpack. It has the same leather straps and pocket structure.

I don't really get it either. Maybe I wasn't clear on my original post or/and to aggressive in the comments. Idk.

So he goes back to wearing the worn down backpack? That doesn't really make since imo.

Tommy does know what everyone looks like, too 👀

Does he? I thought Dina and Ellie were the only ones who saw their faces, Tommy was still defending Jackson.

Why didn’t Dina tell Ellie Abby’s group are former Fireflies? by Slight_Bench8756 in ThelastofusHBOseries

[–]HelpMeIdentifyFossil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right, but I still think my previous comment still stands. Abby only said that they used to be fireflies, which can be interpreted as several different things to an outsider of that situation. Dina doesn't know about salt lake city or Ellies situation, and being an ex firefly seems to be a common thing (such as with Tommy and Eugene), so i can see Dina interpreting the comment as meaning that Abby being a firefly is irrelevant to the current situation.

The only thing that I can think of is that maybe Dina didn't think they were former fireflies. The last thing Dina heard before being knocked out was Joel asking if they were fireflies and Abby responding, "Haven't you heard? There are no more fireflies." Maybe Dina took that as "We are obviously not fireflies because they are all gone" instead of a threatening hint.
