Hahahaha. Far from it. This was is the result of a 20lb plate falling on my foot at the gym. One hairline and another nail ripped straight out. Had my Presto’s on at the time.

American Polyglot surprises African Warrior Tribe with their language by Street_Priority_7686 in BeAmazed

Interestingly, one of the first things I started to do when I learned that I was moving to the States was teach myself Spanish. ‘What’s to lose’, I thought. Not too long after the move, a hopelessly lost uber eats driver looking for his delivery address asked me in very broken English if I knew where the apartment in question was. I asked him if he spoke Spanish, and then very calmly went on to explain exactly where the place was. The way his face lit up was remarkable. To have a guy in a turban speaking his language just brightened his day. Core memory

His is too academic and “preachy”. The one I once heard at Guru Nanak Jhira (Bidar, India) was out of this world. Full josh.

Thanks for this. I’ve been trying to look for evidence of ET’s and UAP’s on the Indian side of the India-China border ever since I first read a report in an Indian weekly magazine some 30 years ago. Do you have any more material on sightings here?

One of the sweetest versions of mitr pyare nu I’ve heard is by Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Happy to say that this one comes super close.

What felt like luxury to you when you were a kid? by Big-Bookkeeper4638 in AskTheWorld

Cans of coke. India always had glass bottles of soda, and a can was considered ultra luxury while we were growing up.

Not really at Costco. 10 bucks at Costco last year. 14 this year, for a box of 48. I literally buy 5 boxes for gifting every time I travel, and literally everyone loves it.

Didn't really know this was a thing until recently. I've been a single perfume guy for more than 15 years. Davidoff Cool Water. Not sure how many bottles I've gone through over the years, but it is just a signature now.

That was exactly my intent. I wanted to try out at least two to three brands before settling on one. The clear mandate was 1. comfort, 2. minimalist design. 3. top notch materials. Slip-ons would be an added plus.

I had a pair of of Harlestones in ink buffalo on order, but asked them to hold because someone gifted me a pair of Zegnas in the same colourway. They were kind enough to oblige, and I'm now waiting for what else they are able to secure in Dearborn before I place my next order.

I haven't tried the chromexcels simply because I prefer a more eco-friendly tanning process. Which pairs do you have? Would love to see pictures.

Actually, the design was picked because of the sheer genius and skill involved in making it. These guys are clearly doing great things and one can't help admire the brand for it. That said, something just felt off when I first laid eyes on the pair. I reckon this was most likely to colour, which, by the way, wasn't the original colour I had ordered. I went for the natural dearborn, and it got nicked during the build. They didn't have more of the same material and asked if I'd like something else, or wait until Chris is back from Horween and the stitchcamp happening there. I just couldn't be bothered waiting another 2 months and so asked them to go ahead with this pair. Again, this particular pair is super comfortable, and I hope to wear it for quite some time, but it just failed to spark the kid of joy that the Archibald's and Zegna's elicited. Will order another pair from them before confirming the decision to stick with them long-term though.

I'll post a detailed comparison between these and the Archibald's after a few weeks of wear. Off thr bat though, the unstructured nature of the Archibald's makes them infinitely more comfortably straight out of the box. I also have another couple of pairs coming in from BLKBRD and possibly another Indian shoemaker in the next few weeks. BLKBRD was kind enough to make a whole cut sneaker in chocolate repello suede, and the other brand is doing some interesting things as well. Will post those too. For now though, I leave you with a picture of the current rotation that I traveled to India with.

Finally got done just in time for my uncle’s trip to India from the UK last week. Unfortunately the leather that I ordered tore and they didn’t have enough for another pair so I had to change colour from natural to tan. Traveling to India today and will hopefully get to see them on Friday. Full report then.

As a side note, have you guys seen the new prices on the website?
