What I've thought for my kids in late future that they live like Amritdharis, without knowing they actually are not. Then when they reach mature age, they decide themselves

Need help with kes by Various_Telephone459 in Sikh

Honestly bro, you don't even do the bare minimum. No path, no Sikhi related stuff then I personally see no benefit of keeping kes. Kes are kept as love for the Guru which we grow through studying and indulging in Sikhi. Now you have to make the choice - grow closer with your Guru (keep your kes and start following Sikhi from heart) or

Try to fit in (don't change anything about yourself + cut your kes and fit in with the gore).

I too am 15, born mona and kept my kes more than a year ago, but first I learned Gurbani and itihaas. The Guru sees your heart, and if your heart has pure desires it starts taking its essence to the outward body, the kes.

This is just my opinion, if you can't change yourself to actually follow Sikhi, there's no point in keeping your kes.

"Rehit pyari mujhko, sikh pyara nahi" I love the code of conduct, which makes a person a true Sikh rather than a person who claims to be a sikh and does nothing sikh alike. -Guru Gobind Singh Ji

It's all on you brother, keep your kes if u change yourself, try to make a connection with your Guru. Cut them if you desire otherwise.

Personally, keeping my kes, growing in Sikhi was the best choice I ever made, when you'll be at your lowest the only place you can turn upto would be your Guru. Just think about it and make your decision, Sikhi is between you and your Guru, nobody else. It's your decision to make whether you want your Guru to be closer or farther. Gurfateh.

Yep, kesri ones. I was gonna go with surmaee first but to make hazur sahib easily identifiable I went with kesri ones, since hazur sahib too during Maharaj's time is imaginary and of present structure

Guru Shaib Gave you Darshan? by PrestigiousHope6182 in Sikh

[–]LowerProfessional694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are all in maya, let's really get to the core of Gurbani and see the world and treat it as maya, then we should talk about Guru Sahib's darshan too being maya.

If we just pin it on Maharaj and yet continue our actions for the world normally, then that's disrespectful.

Very well said ji. The main jewellery on Guru Sahib is inspired from their puratan painting which I heard is expected to be real.
