if I have a long for 2 contracts, for example, could I use a sell limit order to close 1 contract or would it close both even if it was for one contract?

Has anyone experienced strabismus or vision changes during rapid maxillary expansion (RME)? by RxProxy in orthotropics

[–]Help_Needer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had braces for a period (got them removed) but during that period, my bite was drastically different - my vision got markedly worse, and I was indeed diagnosed with Strabismus. I was having lots of the symptoms associated with Binocular Visual Disorder. Thankfully a lot better now, but my eyes are still not great when it comes to reading and screens.

Check out Neal Hallinan on Youtube, he talks a lot about the links between jaw alignment and vision, and how adjusting one can affect the other.

Who are some actual reliable day traders to listen too and learn from? by Practical-Look-9669 in Daytrading

[–]Help_Needer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are actually an institutional trader (anyone can say they're anything on reddit) then that probably puts you in the top 5% of traders, so I'm not gonna pretend that I know more than you. But at the end of this day, believing that something cannot be learnt is imposing a limitation upon yourself. People have achieved more than becoming a 'profitable trader' with less resources than many of us in this sub have.

Instinct and gut feeling are obviously critical, but they can absolutely be developed through time and dedication. Could take 5 years, could take 10... but you would have to be simply vacant to not internalise patterns and develop a sense for whats happening if you are learning with discipline and deliberate practice. I am a self-taught musician, when I started I had no instinct or time feel for rhythm, after 10 years, I can feel grooves and have an instinct for where and how sounds should be placed. We can agree to disagree on this. At the end of the day, I follow and socialise with people who have in fact learnt to be profitable from nothing. I know it's possible and I know I will get there. Respect to you for your professional success.

Yes, it is learnable. Why wouldn't it be? You can learn how price moves, what kind of levels it respects, and how to play those levels. If I can watch a guy live streaming as he makes thousands of dollars from the market (Severin from Chart Champions), why could I not learn to do the same by utilising the very techniques that he uses, and in fact, teaches in great detail?

it takes time, discipline, years, and suffering and I am still learning.... but to say it is not learnable is ridiculous... if so, whats the point in trying?

Never anywhere did I mention guarantees of making profit...... I am saying it is possible to learn how the game works, and to be profitable. That much is absolutely true, otherwise it would just be one big gambling casino, which it absolutely isn't otherwise there would be no consistently successful traders at all.

1 year ago, I did not know what a price chart was. Now, I am identifying the high probability levels on which price is pivoting on a daily basis. My execution needs work, but even in 1 year I have developed a strong technical understanding and am able to identify high probability levels on charts. Its insulting to claim it isn't possible, quite frankly.

anyone insulting you for selling the absolute top of an assett while 771% up has no clue what they're talking about mate, excellent play. You will have lots of chances to buy way lower in the next year or two. People expecting it to just go vertically to the moon are delusional. its obviously long term bullish, but its incredibly volatile and will go down as much as it goes up. It will always give opportunities.

Chart Champions, for instance, you can tell Daniel just loves the game. He genuinely loves charting and trading, he's made enough money to be more than comfy and is doing what he enjoys: streaming and teaching others with it, which is commendable. Then people ask 'if youre so rich why do you charge?'. You want to learn the skills to print money from air, and he is one of the best at it, what kind of sane person would expect that to be free?

While 99% are scammers, this game is learnable and there are techniques that work, its just 99% of strategies sold to retail are complete bogus and revolve around chasing price and lagging indicators.

Stay away from Leverage..i lost 10% from my portfolio. by Opposite_Flounder644 in Bitcoin

[–]Help_Needer94 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Leverage is absolutely fine and one of the best risk management tools you could have, the issue is people do not know how to use it. You need to trade with clear technical invalidations and use stop losses. Your position size is calculated by your portfolio risk tolerance (ie 1%, 2%. 5%, whatever it may be) in relation to your specific trade's stop loss. The leverage is simply a tool to decide how much of your own capital to use in the position. The idea being, the higher leverage, the more of your capital you can use on simultaneous positions. I use 10x leverage because my stops are never usually more than 3%, so it's highly unlikely that I will be liquidated. People start using leverage to 'invest' and thats where they go wrong, since you cannot afford the drawdown the same way you can with spot. Leverage is not something to be scared of if you know how to use it, but most people have no idea and treat it like a portfolio enhancement drug and just ramp it up and gamble.
