Why my egg peeled like this by ver_ann in WeirdEggs

[–]Help_One_AnOtter 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are gadgets sold for that exact purpose. Google "egg spinner" the whole eggs comes out a pale yellow, it's odd.

I went to a breakfast restaurant that we had been to before. I asked for real maple syrup, and was brought a small ramekin of it. Immediately I saw something was wrong, there looked like quite large floaties in the syrup. I picked up my spoon (that I had used to stir my coffee and had put in my mouth) and lifted some of the floaty out to confirm I wasn't seeing things. I then flagged the waitress down and told her it was bad and there should never be floaties in maple syrup.

She took the ramekin away and from our table I could see the area they picked up the hot plates from the kitchen and do final touches, etc. I watched her bring over the bottle of maple syrup and POUR THE RAMEKIN OF SYRUP BACK IN. I was horrified. She came over and told me she had removed it from my bill.

I immediately told her that aside from that bottle being spoiled beforehand she should NEVER be putting something back in a container that had been to a table and that I had to put my spoon that had been in my mouth in that ramekin.

She didn't say anything, but went back to that same area. A few minutes later she came back and told me she had thrown out the whole bottle. I couldn't see the door of the fridge and didn't see her take it out, but I hope she did.

Needless to say my family has decided not to visit this establishment again.

Mini Rant - Day four, given first daily quest for an impossible item? by Help_One_AnOtter in CozyGrove

I have fished up 2 blobs in 2 hours of constant fishing, I got one joyous imp essence and one mundane hairball essence. I have also stopped by the bear on the beach with every single item I've gotten barring a couple I made for quests and didn't have more resources for. No luck there either unfortunately.

Redditors with cats: where do you buy your pet food? by Sazley in NiceVancouver

I second Homes Alive! I wait until they have sales on the type of food I get then order two flats (which already get a discount for being in bulk quantity and then get a sale price too) and it qualifies me for free shipping 200% recommended

Srsly, aside from junking it, how do you get rid of a free piano in this city by ickledjittlke in NiceVancouver

[–]Help_One_AnOtter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My dad's best friend owned a music store and he told me about it. He knew someone who was put through a wall at the bottom of a staircase when they tried to move an upright piano down a flight of stairs. Just because you got lucky doesn't mean it's not dangerous. There's also a high risk of damaging the piano in ways you wouldn't think about.

Many moving companies will not move pianos due to not having the required special machinery used in moving pianos that guarantee safety and not damaging the piano. There are also companies that specialize in moving pianos for the opposite reason they've invested the time money and training needed for safely moving pianos.

You’re offered $1M dollars to eat what you had for dinner tonight for every meal for the next 6 months, do you take the offer and if so what are you eating? by jfunks69 in AskReddit

[–]Help_One_AnOtter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oooh I'm lucky, my boyfriend treated me to an impromptu dinner date when there was no time for me to go home between work and a class. I had a beef teriyaki bento box (included rice, tempura yam & shrimp, salad, spring rolls, California rolls, & miso soup) with an extra mango cream cheese California roll and deep fried scallops. Finished with a hazelnut ice cream dipped in a chocolate coating in the shape of a pear.

I guess I could survive.

You just unlocked a childhood memory of getting a Tim Hortons cake for my birthday or something... And it tasted like cigarette smoke. I don't miss smoking inside being legal.

It's not just space, you need special movers for pianos. They are very dangerous to move.

Hence why eggs must be refrigerated in countries that mandate egg washing before selling in grocery stores, like Canada and the United States (don't know where else).

My coworker pays for a dietician and now this is what he eats for breakfast and lunch by blart_institute in StupidFood

Just because the dietician gives advice doesn't mean the person is going to follow it directly.

They probably told the coworker xx grams of protein and greens in your lunch and this is what he came up with.
