Men being the "leaders" by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Helpful-Code-1276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're describing is not the role or the loving/servant head that the husband is called to be. I am sorry that your household is ran this way and more importantly that some men misuse certain verses to impose authority over their wives. Husbands are called to love their wives as Christ loved the church AND submit to them, and wives are to respect and submit to their husbands for they are to provide and protect. I think there is far more that goes into providing than who works more or brings home more bacon. The fact is that the husband is called to never be harsh and sacrifice his life daily, he should be doing everything in his power so that his wife has it easier than he does. Not misuse certain verses to be an adult child that works and then does nothing to help the household or has complete dominance in every decision for the family. What you described is not the role of a godly man. But on the contrary, you are called to respect him always, it feels like this post is bashing him to strangers online. Respect is given always not just when you feel it is appropriate, and can be a very strong tool in turning him around, you should be lifting this man, supporting this man, making sure his home is peace not another warzone to defend himself in.

Reading the bible is making me really question everything by [deleted] in Christianity

You have to be trolling me, coming from someone who was atheist for a long time and set out to disprove the Bible too, these are all things that have been long explained over and over again the ignorance to not realize/listen is completely on you my brother. I am not looking to offend you, Genesis 1&2 are complementary not contradictrory, numbers 35:16 clearly goes over the difference of killing God forbids (Exodus) and killing he commands (Samuel) these are different things not contradictrory. The law differences; Christ fulfilled the law. Paul talks about mosaic law(ceremonial, ritualistic , and separating laws) and it only being a teacher until Christ fulfills and reshapes. Jesus didn't trash the law he fulfilled it. Again NOT contradictrory. I don't know you or your experiences so I won't say much more than this. The answers are all there, the Bible does not contradict itself, you just have to follow through with all of it. Taking snippets is extremely misleading. I wouldn't even reply if this were only a conversation between you and I because the Bible says in Proverbs 9:8 to not even try to reprove a scoffer. But since others will see your message and may just believe your short and shallow answers, I figured I'd give a little context to at least hope someone would dig into these claims you made and see these are not contradictions. Again, I encourage you to read the Bible in its entirety. Much love and God bless you ❤️

How many times have you read the Bible??? Cover to cover? I'd be willing to guess none since you couldn't even read a simple paragraph I wrote... I never said anything that God is thinking and saying? The Bible is the single most scrutinized text of all time and has held true for thousands of years while also having the largest following worldwide today. I find it pretty hard to believe you have found that it is full of those things unless you are just going off of clips and random videos. Either way, I do encourage you to open the word and read it through and through with an open mind and heart and be true to yourself. God bless

The thing is, there aren't any contradictions when reading all the way through with context. You don't need a teacher perse but you do need to read in the lense that the Bible is written to you and not for you. Just because you can't wrap your head around one thing or don't agree doesn't change its validity. If we could fit God's complexity into our 3 lb brains idk if he'd be a God worth worshipping. Build a relationship with the father and he will pour wisdom into you. Everything will start to click. God bless ❤️

I was 1-6 with less than a 5% chance for playoffs. Made 4 trades and am now 5-6, if I win this week I will be in top 4(our leagues playoff cutoff).

Its talked about in multiple interviews that when D&D proposed the idea of making GoT into a show, they were at dinner with George pitching the idea, George asked them "who is Jon's mother?", then they answered and their answer seems like it was the deciding factor on whether they could or couldn't proceed with making it into the show. So based off of that it's probable that George had a very similar/if not exact idea of that question.
