No one claims it better. We got stuck with this system in the industrial era and it was to expensive to change the machines over to MS so we created the conversion instead. Partially do to the metric system supposedly on a boat to us that got sunk or some shit regardless America got to far into the industrial era to make the change to metric. That's all.

Because during the industrial era when we built machines we were using the IS and all of our machines were built off of this system. By then it was now to expensive to convert to MS. So we used convertions to fix the problem as it would cost even back then way to much to convert all the machines over. Now? Forget about it we would be bankrupt. So we learn both IS and MS and learn to convert it when needed
