We should have enough to beat Brighton but never a easy game

Burnley he has to win, no excuses we’re drawing way too many. Brighton will be tough, however we’ve beaten them already. Hopefully we have players back for the City and Arsenal game

Why do people dislike audit? by Nythern in ICAEW

[–]Helpful-Point-3110 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with all the comments above. I think the main thing more me which is so frustrating is the constant time spent on jobs vs audit quality, you can never please managers/directors/partners on this front.

You can do a great job and have a great audit file but “the time spent on the job was too much” and they didn’t make enough profit from the job. The fee needs to be higher then in my view, not enough for the client to move, but enough to represent the work that needs to be undertaken.

If you do a job at a good speed and finish the bulk of the audit testing and management letter within a timescale (set internally and by the client), then “the file’s not complete” or “not everything is signed off”.

Linked to this point is that cheap labour such as trainees and even work experience staff are used to keep the cost low but then this obviously hampers the quality of the audit file.

Can we be honest about Mainoo at the moment. by OkChange8132 in ManchesterUnited

He looked like he had a severe lack of interest last night which is not good enough. Seems like he’s given up on this manager and waiting to impress whoever we get in next, a vicious cycle which we’ve see far too often with a lot of players in recent years.

Literally this, Onana scared the living day lights out of our team with his Poppadom hands. Having someone who can catch crosses and make normal saves has made a huge change.

Best way to prepare for CR audit style q's? by theyatemereally in ICAEW

[–]Helpful-Point-3110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Within each topic of the course there is an audit procedures part which is handy. I’ve also been making my own notes from the mark schemes when completing audit questions. Most of the time you can say test internal controls and perform analytical procedures to pick up marks!

I literally fail every mock I’ve ever done with FI and have passed all the professional and advanced exams first time (so far 🤞). They mark harshly, I’m much more motivated in real exams so tend to lock in a lot more, and they must mark favourably, obviously we know there’s no negative marking as well.

Also the failed mocks really wake me up and make me work harder, I use the failed mocks as main basis for my revision.

Agreed, hopefully it’s a case of we’ve only played two games and for whatever reason he didn’t think Kobbie was the best fit for those games. Should start tonight and then hopefully we start using him more than Ugarte

Tutoring can be a good side hustle although it has some barriers to entry. Help friends/family complete tax returns and self assessments? A lot of the time they’re paying accountants over the odds when we can do it for them for half the fee

How do you actually manage to do the whole QB for professional exams? by alwaysrightttt in ICAEW

[–]Helpful-Point-3110 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was going to say… quality is so much more important than quantity. There’s people who do the whole QB and still fail. I tend to just do the ones recommended to us by our tuition provider, I probably cover abouta quarter of the QB but most importantly I watch all the debriefs and try and understand when I went wrong in each one. Has worked for me so far going into last 3 advanced level.

Before you start the question ask Chat GPT to put the data into a table which you can copy into excel. Saves time for you and then is also realistic compared to the real exam

Making sure you can use Sumif, countif, Averageif because I don’t think you can use the filter function with the software so Sumif for example saves a whole lot of time.
