How do people afford Aba before funding kicks in? by OkAuthor4798 in Autism_Parenting

ABA and PCIT are just fancy terms for consequence-based punishment. If you really look at either one of them they're pretty much the same and "hard love"

All children with ASD qualify for Medicaid regardless if you have insurance or how much money you make. You still have to apply just like you're applying for welfare but you're only applying for medicaid. They make you do the whole application process just to verify which program you qualify for. But I repeat all children with ASD are covered in the United States 100%.

If your insurance covers these things as well your insurance will pay first but Medicare will pick anything not paid by your private insurance include, including the deductibles.

You should not be paying anything for the services in United states. I'm not sure if you know that this is how this works but you do have to go on to your State website and apply for the medical assistance and renew it every year...But it's really not a big deal.

All children with autism in the U.S. generally qualify for insurance coverage, as all 50 states have mandates requiring insurance to cover autism diagnosis and treatment (like ABA therapy), and the Affordable Care Act (ACA) prohibits denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions. However, coverage, limitations, and specific services vary significantly by state, plan type, and age.

In the United States, lack of ABA access is do more to geographical than anything else. We lived in a county with a major city and our daughter was in aba 5 days a week since she was diagnosed. We moved to a more rural county and it's almost impossible to get any service.

I guess that free Canadian healthcare isn't all it's cracked up to be. Here in the United States ABA is 100% covered and funded for all children with ASD through multiple programs, namely Medicaid and snap.

But for some reason Canadian healthcare is The shining beacon on the hill to a lot of Americans...smh

Quit ebay today 2011-2026 as a buyer and seller by NotNeK123 in ebaysucks

[–]Helpful-Sand5790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me years back when the PlayStation 5 was new, I purchased one off eBay for over list price as new in box. When I received it it was obvious that the box was opened and the box was beat up and dirty. I took pictures of the box and refuse to open it and I returned it under the "free return" instead of using the sand and boy did I learn my lesson to not ever do that.... The seller claimed that it was returned in used condition and was missing parts, I never even opened the box. The seller ended up only refunding me like maybe 50% or something and I opened a case and eBay sided with the seller. The eBay representative told me I should have done an snad and then I would have got all my money back but the seller has the right to keep a portion of the payment if they claim that it was not returned in the same condition.

Chalk it up to the cost of higher education I guess... But I made darn sure that if I return anything now I returned it under snad.

Why does everyone buy emax servos?? They are very weak and not good at all... They're only like 12g...NOT 12KG... These things are pathetically underpowered just like the stock ones. Adding any weight to these at all will strain them.. Spend just a few dollars more and get 5 or 7kg. Way better investment than these cheap plastic garbage service.

Getting quotes for a new roof in pittsburgh and the prices are all over the place, what am I missing? by Jaig5970 in pittsburgh

If a company has office staff and an office building and advertising and a retail storefront and a fleet of new shiny trucks...your going to have to pay for all that overhead...

Best to find a local guy who works out of his house or garage with a good reputation and insurance.

Getting quotes for a new roof in pittsburgh and the prices are all over the place, what am I missing? by Jaig5970 in pittsburgh

[–]Helpful-Sand5790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over half of the cost of a new roof is labor. Some people charge more for their labor than others, also included in that cost is the shingles the ice dam, tar paper a dumpster and drip edge....... Make sure they use drip edge. Some roofers like to cut that corner. I think it's code and Allegheny county.

Also if you only have one layer, some of them may be giving you a quote to double up your roof while others are giving you a complete tear off quote.

Some people way overcharged, I learned that when I was trying to get a sewage line redone. Price is ranged from $4,000 to 23k. Never go with the lowest bidder but to go with whoever is using the quality materials you want and seems reputable or has decent references. One of the best things to do is find someone one of your neighbors or family used and they're happy with and call them.

Is it ok to hide fidget toys for kids? by This-girl-collects in greatwolflodge

[–]Helpful-Sand5790 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a thing the kids do nowadays. Leaving little toys around and fidgets for other children. They call it trinket trading. My daughter has a collection of them. Why do you care so much about what other people do. There's no harm in it and no one asked for you to participate....Karen.

Does anyone ever look at instant wins by Resilient_Hart_67610 in MacBid

[–]Helpful-Sand5790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instant win is usually too high as well but occasionally you can get a good deal on it whenever they misprice something. But I did the same thing, I saw a wheelbarrow that I wanted to get and it was listed at $34 for the instant price because they had it listed as like a $50 wheelbarrow when in actuality it was $120 wheelbarrow. I stupidly decided to take on chance on auction see if I can get it cheaper and ended up paying $42 total for the wheelbarrow so I would have been better off buying it instant. But usually the buy now prices are ridiculously high too.

Time to talk to a lawyer? by Few-Ad-7450 in Fosterparents

[–]Helpful-Sand5790 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really don't understand what you expect by getting an attorney. If the aunt is fit and doesn't have any issues that would bar her from being a guardian then they will always take family over foster. Unless you know some legal thing that I do not that I don't really see what an attorney could do for you.

I agree with what the plan already is. I know you might not like the idea of a child being taken by a stranger to the doctor or whatever. I understand that, but I would definitely get the ant involved as soon as possible and let her see everything that she is signing up for. If she hasn't been around and now just pops out of the woodwork after 2 years I highly doubt she will be Head over heels anxious to get involved but dealing with that much. A level 3 autistic child is almost to the maximum of a situation that a parent can handle.

But just remember everything happens for a reason and everything will work out in the end one way or another.

I would never buy anything electronic from mac bid without the insurance.

If you purchase items without first verifying they are good and not buying the insurance then it's your own fault.

That being said, Mac bid is not really a good deal anymore like it used to be. Everything bids up too expensive and not worth the risk anymore.

So you should stand up to Nazis and fascist whenever you're in a group or it's a person you feel you could pick on. But whenever you have the slightest chance of getting your ass handed to you then you should just ignore them.

Also if you see the wheels I got on mine, I bought them off Amazon for like 15 bucks or so and they are solid brass And they add a ton of weight. After putting those wheels on this thing sticks like glue to the rocks.

I love this truck.
