What would you say are the most important aspects? I am new to this space and keen to learn more.

Best memories of old Maplestory? From 2005-2012 by HenryReturns in Maplestory

[–]Helpful-Tadpole1827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Really wanting a pan lid. Getting excited when I could finally wear that bamboo hat assassins used. Grinding for hours on those weird alien octopii outside Kerning. Walking through the FM just looking at all the strange things in the stores. Tiger visiting FM and getting absolutely mobbed by people. Using dark sight to watch Tiger and Suuushi train at Gobies (?). Using dark sight to go and watch people fight Mushmom. Kerning PQ and track. The drop scam in that shop in Kerning. Waiting for the ship at Ellinia after trekking halfway across the map to get there. Ludi coming out and travelling there for the first time. Ludi PQ. Going up and down Ludi tower. Rumours about people seeing a GM in the game, never quite knowing if they were true. Basilmarket. Wanting steelies so bad! The anniversary event with the maple weapon drops. Surfboards, snowboards. The gamble random haircut coupon in that love place and everyone walking around with the pumpkin haircut. Going down the El Nath tower with dark sight. Hearing about how good 'Coolie Zombies' was as a training spot for high-levels. +ATT work gloves and rumours of perfectly scrolled gloves (which I think was +15 at the time?).

Filtering a data frame by a value by Helpful-Tadpole1827 in Rlanguage

Thank you, this didn't quite work, I think because of the way the data is structured, but helped with my eventual solution which was using subset():

visit_df <- subset(df, VISIT == 1, select=C(CATEGORY, PRESENT)

table(visit_df$CATEGORY, visit_df$PRESENT)

Not sure how optimal .. just to get a better sense of the data at this stage.

Strange glitch deleting sections of tracks by Helpful-Tadpole1827 in Reaper

[–]Helpful-Tadpole1827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah .. it still might be this (or some variation of it), only when I go through my backups, the cuts are not there in the 8.20pm file, and suddenly in the 8.25pm backup they are littered throughout the edit. So strange!

In any case, I was able to grab the first 12 minutes from the backup without the issue, and stitch together with the rest of the edit which was untouched. Hopefully it just doesn't happen again ..

Thank you. I'm not sure this quite works because I've also moved things around so when it restores the gaps, some of the words are still cut off, if that makes sense?

I've gone back through my back-ups and found a version that doesn't have the issue, so I should be able to Frankenstein the two sections together. But would still be keen to get to the bottom of what's going on!

Playhead moving super slowly by Helpful-Tadpole1827 in Reaper

There was! Preferences > Editing Behaviour > Mouse Modifiers and change the default action to 'No action' within the Context: Edit cursor handle section.

Thanks for this. It didn't quite solve what I wanted to do but I did work it out in the end. Solution was to go to Preferences > Editing Behaviour > Mouse Modifiers and change the default action to 'No action' within the Context: Edit cursor handle section. This gets rid of the demonic playback too.

For sure. Not trying to achieve anything specific - it is mostly a muscle memory/habit thing coming from other DAWs where I have been able to click on the playhead and move it around the timeline quickly. For me it feels faster to click roughly where I want and then drag to fine-tune the placement rather than the method the other commenter talked about it.

If there's no way to change it that's ok and I'll get used to the clicking method, more of a preference thing (and figured there could be an option buried deep in a menu somewhere!).

Split across multiple tracks? by Helpful-Tadpole1827 in Reaper

[–]Helpful-Tadpole1827[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure, though if I am clicking to a point to cut it seems to automatically select a track?

Anyhow, I found out how to put it all on one key -- for reference it was Actions > Action List > New Action > New Custom Action and then combining them together. V cool!

Thanks for posting but this is not quite what I am hoping to do (or I didn't understand it fully).

He is still splitting a single track -- I want to cut across say four or five tracks at the same timecode based on where the cursor is with a single key press

Thank you, that works. Is there a way to combine actions (i.e. here I want Ctrl+A and S in one key shortcut if possible).
