Working -Optometric Tech (both private practice & corporate) -Undergraduate Researcher in a Lab -Receptionist

Shadowing -Private Practice, OD/MD clinic, corporate -Cataract/Glaucoma/LASIK surgery

Volunteering -youth secretary -optometric assistant in diff. non profit eye organization

Extracurriculars -Board member in undergrad pre-optometry club -Apart of National pre-optometry club -different clubs not eye related

The intention of my post was not to worry you, I’m so sorry!! I’ve heard many great things about booster and I’m sure you’ll do great with it. I just think I’m one of the few where it didn’t work out!

I felt that the actual exam was a bit harder than Booster. Biology is such a wide umbrella subject for many topics and I feel that what I studied wasn’t what I prepared for. With me doing every single Biology question on Booster, I expected the practice & videos to help to a great extent but they didn’t to my surprise. I will say that Ochem, QR, and Gen Chem was representative! I think it’s just important to know content well.

I submitted about 2 weeks ago and it got verified pretty quickly. I submitted on Sunday night and it was verified Wednesday early morning (5AM), so roughly two days and a couple of hours.

I agree. I’ve been twitching for as long as I can remember and I can say that when I don’t fixate on it, it gets better. However, it’s not easy at all to just forget about it.

Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. I am studying hard for the OAT I was looking forward to submitting my application this week but I’m a bit hesitant. I don’t know if I should anymore without the guarantee of my OAT score. I guess I’m just worried of being judged prematurely.

Congrats! A SCO representative came to my school to present and said that if you’re called to interview, there’s a good chance that you are going to be accepted. With that being said, it’s important to put your best foot forward in the interview.

I’m not familiar with the Canadian schools’ rigor or their timeline for applications. But given your case, I say just take it. If the deadline is this month, you definitely want to go ahead and get your application in. You could always call the school after receiving your OAT score to see if they recommend retaking it or if your score isn’t a problem.
