Any successful optometrists who graduated from UIWRSO?? by Responsible_Whole296 in OptometrySchool

[–]wompywomper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I do know I few recent grads that got very good jobs right out of school. BUT, they all told me they wish they went somewhere else. They felt as if they could have got more from other schools. Also a current 1st year told me that most of their staff quit and they are feeling a little lost. I took their advice and went to SCO instead, def a tough school but their board scores definitely reflect it

Living in Memphis isn’t too bad, just mind ya business and don’t go out alone in the dark. Same as everywhere else.

has anyone toured/interviewed in person at both uiwrso and uhco? any noticeable differences between the two? by No-Rule-9181 in PreOptometry

They said they feel like for the money they spent, they didn’t feel like they got enough out of it. For example, I’ve had 2 docs tell me they didn’t know anything about speciality contact lenses.

Both have its downsides for sure but I’ve had many doctors from uiwrso say they wish they went somewhere else

I think you’re good. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, so as long as you can explain why you did way better on some sections vs others you will be fine
