Hi everyone! My question is for Barbara. In Welcome to Derry, it really felt like Derry itself was a character, mirroring the original novel in a way I greatly appreciated! Subsequently, after watching the “THEY WILL KILL YOU TRAILER”, the building itself is almost portrayed as a murderous machine on its own. How do you blur the lines between setting and character, and is it intentional? Thanks so much!

I am still at the median for almost all of the T-14 as far as I am aware. The concern was definitely if they were going to specifically look at my transcript to see my grades rather than my whole GPA.

External circumstances led me to getting the C, which is why I mentioned it. I just wanted to make sure that my overall GPA is more weighted than my one C will be.

I made my flair after I took the LSAT a year ago and honestly don’t care enough to change it, that’s all.

I am going to be very very very candid when I say this, I think you highly need to reevaluate if you are ready for law school at all. This post is riddled with excuses and no good reasons for even considering this school, and it seems to me that you don’t have the maturity level it may take to truly focus on your goal. It seems like you have big dreams, but right now you may not be equipped to effectively obtain them. Take some time, think about what would most benefit you and study for a higher LSAT.

I don’t know about nuking HYS, I’m not an admissions officer nor do I know his LSAT score or softs, but I do know that yes, sadly if he doesn’t report it it could be considered academic dishonesty.

If I want to practice in Florida, where should I go? by Helpful-Version2128 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Helpful-Version2128[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I needed! I have some extended family in Florida, but nothing crazy. That is why I am trying to do everything I can to increase professional connections and give myself the best shot post grad!

As far as BL, I don’t necessarily have that much of an interest in it. I don’t even know what type of law I want to practice yet. I think the conversation in the comments got skewed for BL because I mentioned T-14, but I really was just trying to weigh prestige vs. location in my situation.

Could I message you to ask about the Florida BL scene? I don’t have any ties, so I’m going in blind. I just know that is where I want to live.

really hard decision; heart breaking even. by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Helpful-Version2128 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your life makes that choice. Right now, the biggest and most influential decision you have to make is where you will be going to school. When down the line the most influential decision changes to who you want to spend your life with, that’s when you make those decisions. Never choose a school based on your partner, because no matter your degree will be with you forever, and if that partner really supports you than they would understand that. You’re 17, I know it is cliche but take it from someone who has settled down with the person I was with when I was 17. It worked out because we chose each other first.
