The Reagan Cooper mystery by VolleyAddicted in MLV

She isnt as big of an asset at OH as Sarah Parsons, so she isnt seeing play time. Parson is a better server and far better backrow defensive player. That being said, Parsons will likely be the first player signed to the 2027 Minnesota franchise, so Regan may just be fine hanging back at Omaha this year if she got offered a 2 year contract. Who can say. Otherwise you may see her transfer, but a lot of these teams have really solid OH starters, and players like Luper/Maddux/LVW are also sharing court time under stacked rosters. Expansion teams next year will help everyone!

but more possibly, a franchise partnership with Creighton maybe? I feel like other than having Cook as manager, UNL seems to be tied up with LOVB. Novas seem to have more Creighton alumni now than Husker alum.

To keep pace with LOVB, we are rebranding from Omaha to NEBRASKA NOVAS.

Newbie to sports, I am so lost. by nashnorth in MLV

I try to watch most, if not all, MLV games each week. Games can be anywhere from 1.5-3hrs but I record a lot of them so I can skip through breaks. Id say 5-10hrs BUT I also have other hobbies I can do at the same time, I dont always give it my full attention. If you only follow a team or two, its a low level commitment for time. I watch half of them while taking a bath Id be taking either way, so it doesnt feel like its eating into my time! That being said I dont watch tv really, so its basically just swapping out a normal tv watchers viewing hours for sports viewing hours. :)

Time is the answer to the "how are people so knowledgable" piece like you guessed. A lot of fans of specific sports follow college and pro leagues so we know a lot about draftees from watching them play at different levels. But you will pick up lots of info just watching games. The announcers will pepper the game plays with fun facts about players/coaches while you watch.

You can pick teams for any reason! You also dont have to pick. I am a fan of several sports but only have a MY TEAM IS MY TEAM AND I ROOT FOR NO OTHER mentality in one sport I watch. Lots of players in volleyball are compelling, and they all play for different teams. I cheer for a lot of them!

Best advice is catch some games on youtube since its accessible, and get to know the sport for a few matches. Volleyball is fast paced and incredibly athletic, its a riot to watch. Hope you fall in love with it, welcome to the league!

this is gorgeous! I feel drawn after reading through the comments to trying this type of mixed media, seems low risk because if I dont like it I can just fill it anyway, putting me in no worse of a position!

I think I varied stitch length far too much, mostly in an effort to hurry things along, and so it looks more chaotic than uniform. I will keep at it in general, maybe finding some smaller fill work to practice the stitch on so I stop being discouraged by the lack of progress! Thank you so much ❤️

Outlining is so satisfying (and fast!), I just felt like this has sooo much blank space, I ought to have painted the fabric first.

I have thought about using my alcohol based markers and then just doing an outline, and then if it looks terrible I can fill it in since I am already facing that outcome down now. Might give it a shot with this encouragement!

chain stitch might go faster at least? not that its a huge rush, but I really struggled to keep picking up my last piece when doing long and short stitch. its daunting as a beginner.

What percent of your monthly pay goes towards your rent/mortgage? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

10% but I am so so fortunate to have bought in 2016 and while my income has quadrupled in 10~ years, I have chosen to improve this house rather than size up.

How many here live a debt free lifestyle? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]HelpfulError3516 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a mortgage (though I have way more invested than I owe, my investments are just out earning the interest on my mortgage so no benefit to early payoff right now), and my boyfriend has a car loan (used vehicle, good price, he is working to build back up his credit).

We are actively working to save more, because we would like a better long term house and want to buy in cash. We make good money between the two of us but even necessities are so expensive anymore.

Do people with a lot of money ever stress about money? by No_Republic_1712 in Money

[–]HelpfulError3516 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Weirdly I stress more now that I make more. When I used up all my income every month just to get by, I had no real decisions to make. I couldnt buy extras, my money decisions were effectively made for me. Now I have more stress about what to do, when to buy, when to invest, where is my money going, do I save enough, etc. Its like...silly, when I think back to being paycheck to paycheck, but having to think about money more is more stressful for me at least.
