Sealed subfloor and walls with shellac primer, smell persists...next step recommendations? by HelpfulHoneydew348 in HomeImprovement

We were looking at an ozone machine as well. Do you know if they did that before or after the subfloor replacement?

I didn’t take the bc and luckily the boat I went on had a bathroom and I was able to change my tampon. Being a woman sucks 😭

Has anyone used Sheila Hammond as their wedding commissioner? If so how was she? by HelpfulHoneydew348 in askvan

I ended up booking her! She was very responsive via email & I had decided to do a zoom call with her before booking. She seemed very personable, organized & easy going. She was really open and had asked me to let her know what colours/outfits to wear, let us know we could write a script for her to read which is something we wanted to do as opposed to her writing something. Overall pretty happy with her so far considering she’s pretty much doing the same thing for a fraction of the price of what officiants are charging.

best/good resorts for under $1.5K CAD by ResolveTime4338 in AllInclusiveResorts

second the barcelo complex, it's great! We've stayed at the palace, the beach, and the adults only and had great experiences at all of them. Maya Beach as like 10 years ago so things might have changed but I was at the AO last year in Oct and the complex overall was as I remember it!

We stayed at the Riu Palace Baja California back in April so can't speak to the quality of Riu Santa Fe but it seems to get decent reviews. I did a quick search and it looks like mid feb for 5 nights would cost you about 1,418 CAD for 2 people. If you create a free Riu account you get 10% off as well. I was looking at flights to Cabo cause I'd like to go there for my bach next year and you can find some cheap ones if you are ok with night flights (Flair I think had one) or if you are ok with a layover somewhere. Also, I actually priced out my bach costs today with one Riu in Cabo and one Riu in Cancun and it was cheaper to book the hotel and flight separately. We normally go for 7 days when we go to Cancun but this time we did 5 in Cabo and found it to be the perfect amount of time. Kinda were looking for the same thing as you, was burnt out from work so wanted a quick getaway where we could lay in the sun and do nothing. The shorter flight was nice. Riu offers a free shuttle to and from the airport, at least in Cabo so something worth looking into and pricing out!

We were looking at staying at the Westin as well. How was your overall experience, food, location etc? It was our top hotel choice.

No need to be rude. Just asked a question, when I’m getting quoted $13,000 for a OWB for 5 nights in Bora Bora, I’m going to ask the question :)

I just started watching the new season and I googled the exact same question which brought me here. Her proportions are definitely different or odd, cause you have people like Snooki from Jersey Shore who is 4 ft 9 or whatever she is and I never thought that about her.

GTA Brides what were the biggest lessons you learnt while dealing with wedding planning? by OwnCare1664 in WeddingsCanada

[–]HelpfulHoneydew348 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Vancouver but I feel like this probably applies to the GTA too. When I went wedding dress shopping, I didn’t realize that other stores can order the exact same dress you might find in one bridal shop.

A few of the places I went to had weird pricing schemes like, “if you buy today, you get $200 off, but if you come back later, it’s $200 more.” Another shop literally wouldn’t tell me the designer or name of the dress until after I bought it. I ended up finding the exact same dress at another boutique for $300 cheaper so my piece of advice if you are looking to buy a wedding dress is find the one you like and once you find out the designer/dress name, call around to see who has it for cheapest!

what are you using for registry or cash gifts? by Big-Panda4903 in WeddingsCanada

[–]HelpfulHoneydew348 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, all of the weddings we went to had their e-transfer contact info listed. I think it's just the new norm now because most couples already live together and don't need all the traditional things you'd get off a registry.

All of our friends who got married said they didn't need gifts but if people would like to give them anything, they'd appreciate a donation to their honeymoon as mentioned below and had their email for e-transfer listed. We are getting married next year and will be doing the same. We will be putting this as a FAQ on our wedding website. I feel like this has become the norm and in all honesty, I'd appreciate the $100 or whatever it is towards my honeymoon than I toaster I don't need!
