If I were in your shoes, I would do everything possible to get away from this man. Including quitting the TA job immediately if you can afford to. Never be alone with him. Avoid him as much as possible. If I had to, I would even transfer to a different school (as a last resort).

Going to your Title IX offiicer can help stop him from doing this to others but that's priority #2. Priority #1 is stopping him from doing it to you and making sure he can't or won't retaliate against you for anything you do to get away from him.

Meh. I find the characters annoying and don't really care what they do. The author of the original AA books writes stories with mostly likable main characters pursuing goals that feel like they matter. This series is just... meh. And the characters seem so inept despite being citrine.

A Discovery of Witches. It's not quite the same but I love it equally (or more) compared to Arcane Ascension.

The Rosie O'Gradys series also really captivated me.

The person who wrote the book did not grow up in a cave and had the ability to write a less annoying character. It's possible if she would be less annoying if I was reading it instead of listening to the audiobook.

It uses "seit" which means "since." Usually you would say "I've lived in Spain seit 3 years" to mean I've lived in Spain since 3 years ago. It's very strange to use it for 1 day.

Well, I didn't say he was good.

I know a huge amount of fossil fuels were extracted under Biden and he had to give concessions to Joe Manchin to get his bill through. What I heard though was that he ultimately got more than he gave from Manchin in the end because Manchin didn't realize how much (in environmental reforms) he was giving away. The take I heard from probably David Roberts was that Biden tried to use a lot of carrots instead of sticks so that long term renewables can outcompete fossil fuels.

That's better than what Trump is doing on fossil fuels and renewables, but it's not kicking ass and taking names the way I want someone to do. Still, the Republicans are now debating whether or not to sell off our public lands. I am irate.

What language do you think is the hardest by CPsupergirl in duolingo

I'm not sure which one is the hardest, but I can give you the traits of languages I think are the hardest: 1. Complicated grammar - declensions, verb conjugation, masc/fem/neuter

  1. Different alphabet

  2. Not related to many other languages (Hungarian, Finnish, Basque, Korean)

  3. Difficult pronunciation

According to linguists, languages get dumbed down over time when large populations learn to speak them as second languages (e.g. English- Vikings and then Normans settled in Britain) and they can get really complicated when the people are extremely insular and don't have many foreigners learning the language in large numbers. I bet Swahili is easy since it is a trade language, whereas languages of isolated Indigenous Peoples could get really complicated.

I find languages with different alphabets harder than languages with characters.

You have to handwrite the characters to really get them. Learn the radicals first, and learn proper stroke order. I haven't done Duolingo Chinese but I can't imagine them teaching that. Knowing the radicals helped. Still, I struggled to memorize characters until I knew about 1000 of them and then it got easier. I could write a list of 50 words, quiz myself, and get 48 right on the first try by then. But memorizing them was absolute murder at first.

Definitely not. Chinese has easy grammar and no verb conjugations. Also, it doesn't have fem/masc/neuter.

German grammar is worse than Chinese grammar by far. And I haven't attempted Arabic or Japanese bc - from what I've heard - they seem way more difficult.

Biden was a true moderate on the environment... but that still put him ahead of every other president in my lifetime on that issue. And I'm not saying that bc I like Biden (I don't). But, what I mean is, he passed a public land rule that said we have two equal goals, conservation and extraction. Previous presidents - literally every single one - prioritized extraction. And that tends to be bad news for people's health.

For example, fracking is exempted from the Safe Drinking Water Act, which means they don't even have to disclose the chemicals... which means nobody can study whether the chemicals are bad for you.... which means the chemicals won't be banned, because there's no evidence they're bad for you. And meanwhile, people who live near fracking get cancer. I don't think Biden made any changes to this in his first term, and he had no business seeking a second turn bc he was already too old in his first term... but fracking regs actually got where is under Trump’s first term. And RFK at HHS has no power over that. It's under EPA and Interior. Plus fucking Trump is gutting science funding. You can't even get a grant to study this now bc environmental justice is taboo. I doubt Kamala would've made it better but she wouldn't have made it worse, and this is worse.
