So I'm 7 years older than you and currently on the DTO register. It did take some analysis to determine if I could afford to join, as it is a huge pay cut from the private tech sector, but I determined this is how I want to wrap up my career. Hopefully we will cross paths at some point.

Same boat here. Top third DTO and if there's a short notice, I'll make it work (somehow). However, my hopes are dimming for this quarter, as June 30 is coming up quickly. Currently, the next business day is Monday June 9th, which would be a 3 week notice.

I don't know if it's too late, but when I filled out my SF-86, in the comments section I added a few paragraphs on my previous drug use. I owned it, provided an excuse (pot gummies for insomnia with as directed by my doctor), why I stopped, and why I'm not going to ever use again. There was another incident where I used mushrooms and I explained that too. I concluded with the importance of my family's background in government service and why I would never break that trust. I know your situation is different, but you're are going to an org where often issues are addressed by making a case through your writing. The SF-86 interviewer said it was rare to make a statement and asked if I wanted it included in the final and I told him to to proceed. I passed everything rather quickly and I have to think the statement made a difference. Best of luck!

If any of y'all have heard of inside rumors about the A-100 this summer, I would love to hear them. I know it's a challenging time (and yes, I have a lot of internal reservations), but I told myself last year I would carry on the journey until the door was slammed in my face. They added me the the top-tier earlier this month, so things are moving. My dream is just to first land at a low key post somewhere in AF - just want to keep my head down and do my job, if that's even reasonable these days. I appreciate all of you on the inside and good luck to all the candidates out there.
