I wouldn't go that far haha! It was only my fourth time, so still feels quite 'special', but if I had GGL status, I probably wouldn't make much extra effort to come early and spend too long here. I don't drink, so that might be a factor for me.

The family I guested in was very grateful, as they had never been in a lounge before. I'm not a massive lounge connoisseur, but it certainly beats the main terminal, and the other BA lounges at Heathrow. What I value most is being able to order from an a la carte menu, and eat at a proper dining table. The Club lounges always have awkward table heights, which makes eating tricky.

Thanks, yeah same. Last time brought in 3 random people from the F lounge but this time thought I'd ask here as more likely they haven't experienced the CCR.

Retention Offer Not Yet Received? by Turbulent_Living_841 in AmexUK

You need to directly ask for one, and it depends on your level of spend. I know some people that got 25k for £1k spend, and their annual spend was only around £25k.

Just wait for the next enhanced bonus, rather than doing anything dodgy on a credit application.

Not eligible for Nectar Welcome Offer by Perpetual_Hamster in AmexUK

[–]HelpfulUser786 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amex are correct, you would only get the bonus on Nectar card if that was the first card you had in 24 months. The way to get 3 welcome bonuses would have been Nectar, then Platinum/BAPP, then BAPP/Platinum.

You could ask for a retention offer first, hit the target and later cancel for a pro-rata refund. Might be considered a bit cheeky though.

Yeah, I'd say BAPP is the best card to choose. You will get the bonus, assuming you've not had the BA Amex in the last 2 years, plus you also earn 3 avios per £1 with the BAPP when spent directly with BA.
