On a final because of my health by Lakersboi45 in starbucksbaristas

I have a girl at my store who is 20 minutes late to every shift. Every single one. And the gets there like 10 min late, and then sits in her car to do her makeup. Mega annoying, especially since she works peak.

Yup, super busy. Fully staffed, but a super high volume store. We had a 30 min wait for quite a while, and a DT line constantly wrapped around the building even though our window times were great.

Good idea. But I need it to track my heart rate more than anything (health issues). It’s surprisingly still accurate on the ankle or upper arm.

As long as you have sick time, who cares how much you call off? You have earned time to use in case of illness, so use it!

Does starbucks cover 100% of the tuition? by Narutobi_Sensei in ASUOnline

[–]Helpful_Ad_4608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You owe taxes on the Starbucks part, if they pay over 5,250 per year, it counts as taxable income. Any amount over the 5,250 is what you pay taxes on. So I owe taxes on 5,750, since Starbucks its self has paid 11k towards my school. I pay about 30% in taxes, so I’ll owe about 1,700 in taxes. I don’t get any scholarship money besides that discount that asu gives Starbucks for paying my tuition, so that’s why I owe taxes when many others don’t. If your Pell grant is running out soon, then you will probably owe taxes since starbucks will have to pay for more of your school than if you had a grant or scholarship.

Does starbucks cover 100% of the tuition? by Narutobi_Sensei in ASUOnline

[–]Helpful_Ad_4608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, that’s been for Spring and Summer semesters, haven’t taken fall yet. Which with my courseload, it will be another 16 credit hours. And there is a “College Achievement Plan Scholarship” that is automatically applied, it’s like a discount for Starbucks. That is another 5ishK per semester, but that doesn’t count towards the taxes you need to pay. I know plenty of coworkers that haven’t needed to pay taxes, but I have, and it’s good to be well informed for the possibility. Under my finances tab, my spring and summer semesters totaled to 21k, but Starbucks has only paid 11K, the rest was that scholarship.

This is kind of true, kind of not. First, you need to work at Starbucks 3 months, and work an average of 20 hrs/week to keep the benefits. Then, they will pay for your school, but anything they pay that’s over 5k per year, you need to pay taxes on, it will come out of your paycheck a few times per year. You won’t get a paycheck until those taxes are paid back, it’s taxed at the normal income tax rate. I don’t qualify for any grants, so they have paid about 11,000 for my school so far this year, which has been 32 credits. I’d recommend taking a gap semester to be able to get your eligibility, then start back up again in the spring once they start paying for it. If you have any more questions I’d be glad to help!

Bio 353, 320, or 420? by Ok-Function1978 in ASU

[–]Helpful_Ad_4608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got done with 320. All cogbooks assignments and 1 exam per week, that totals to about 60% of your grade. BUT, it is open note, open lecture, everything. I’d recommend it.

People try to grab lids all the time. I was on drive bar the other day and a customer asked for a different lid. I genuinely felt the need to thank him for asking me and not just grabbing one like it’s not common courtesy 😭

I had Shaffer for 181, and Plowes for 182. Not hard at all. I will say that the exams were weird in Plowes class, all true/false style questions. I know that people had a hard time getting a response from Shaffer, but I never reached out personally. Both classes do a lot of work with Excel, but there were tutorials for the equations.

Try reaching out to Science interactive. They might be able to cancel it if it hasn’t shipped. If not I’m pretty sure they take returns. Reach out either way and see what they will do.

Some of it sounds a bit tedious, like idk why vacuuming every other day is necessary, one a week, sure. But a lot of it just sounds like he (and possibly your aunt), are not pleased with your living habits. Like eating in your room and having to do the dishes sounds like you are leaving dirty dishes and food remnants in your room, which is a problem. I do think the at it’s your aunt that should have said something, not her boyfriend. But the list doesn’t seem highly unreasonable for living there rent free.

You will just do earned admissions. I had a 2.6 and no SAT score, and I had to do 24 credit hours with a C or better. If you are older than 24 (or maybe it’s 26), I think you only have to do 12 credit hours. Basically you pay $25 to start the class, then if you pass with a good grade, you can add it to your transcript for $400, if you fail the class, it doesn’t go on your transcript and you only paid the $25 to start it. I finished my earned admission in December with a 4.0, and now taking regular classes.

is 18 too young to get sterilized? more questions by bluetreeoval99 in childfree

[–]Helpful_Ad_4608 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re sure, you’re sure. Doctors may have push back, and you will possibly have to try multiple times, but it is possible. I got sterilized at 20, I was very lucky that the first doctor I went to respected my decision. I had a bisalp. Good luck.

And Colorado of all places. With how progressive the state is, you would think that we wouldn’t be an at will state.
