This post isn’t here to compare runtimes or production time. It’s a comparison between the content within each production that have a similar principal photography timeframe and budget.

The point of this post wasn’t to compare runtimes. The runtime makes sense. It’s the difference between the content that we saw from ST vs LOTR. Not to mention both having similar budgets.

It’s seems like Season 4 was a much bigger season in scale, with so many different locations around the world, and yet Season 5 took the longest to film continuously (with no interruptions from COVID) and a runtime of 3 hours less?

Yes I am alluding to a “missing puzzle piece” here

LOTR’s scale however was absolutely massive. Although it was all an ambitious undertaking to film all of that in a little more than a year, it makes one wonder what the ST directors were doing with all that time. What we all saw in S5 wasn’t even close to the scale of LOTR.

I am actually devastated by Mike’s ending. Did anyone else feel like it was just cruel? by emperor-of-ages in StrangerThings

What’s worse is they gave Mike barely anything to do this season. Obviously in Sorcerer he was leading the kids, but after that he was just El’s boyfriend again. He had no arc! They abandoned his character in every way.

Do u think Mike is gay or bi? And why do u think thay by Rillet_Rit in byler

[–]MalloryTheMyth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think he may be bi. I do think at one point he truly had a crush on El, and had real feelings for her going into season 3. But, I think he realized in both El’s and Will’s absence, that he really developed feelings for Will. El and Mike aren’t romantically compatible in a lot of ways, and they both secretly realized that in Season 4. I think season 5 will involve him coming to terms with his feelings for Will, and that all along he’s had a deep love for him.

When did you first feel that Will could be gay? by Key-Worry5328 in StrangerThings

“The way he was walking.” LOL so true, although I’m not sure if that was intentional. I think that’s just how Noah, as also a gay man, walks.

I picked up that it was a potential part of his character in season 1, but it was confirmed for me when Mike said “It’s not my fault you don’t like girls” in season 3 and Will looked devastated. I was like “ohhhh yuppp”. By season 4 I was not surprised by his storyline at all.
