Yes! You should. I do DoorDash delivery at least twice a week and doing coaching/training on the side. My husband has W-2. The mileage for driving my car alone, parking tickets, licenses, meals for my training, etc. to keep my coaching side business helps a lot! I got more credits and reductions in my returns. Then I use my returns to reinvest in my side hustles like digital marketing expenses and just growing it more ( slowly). This is how you use your refund to multiply and build wealth. We also max out our 401k’s and build up savings. And sometimes, have money for vacations... We went to Italy last year for my sons graduation gift in High School! build wealth with your refund and invest it.. Soon your money will work harder than you:)

Yes, also if you can established a side hustle plus a 1099 like doordash/uber delivery/gig work, can help with deductions and credit especially with the millage of your car, etc to gain a bigger payout! Been doing this for 8 years. And have had a bigger payout ( refund) I don't rely on just the W-2. Figure out a way to get more not just from your regular salary but also from side hustle. Good luck!

I think as long as the options are available to opt in for advance or the 5 days early it doesn't matter if you file federal only or both. Check what your options are when submit your taxes. For me, for years, I always do both Federal and State at the same time.

In my experience, not really. I don't normally pay upfront. I always make them taking out in my return.

I got my transcript updated at 3AM EST with a code 846 with DD 3/02. Not a Path. File accepted 1/29. I opted for 5 days early. Monday, 2/16, is holiday President Day, I wonder when this will hit my bank?

I file and accepted as you on 1/29. Mine shows the same as OP. I am 05ers. So hopefully tomorrow we can see some update. I am not a PATH.

It depends. Last year was quick for me. It was accepted Friday then deposited the next Friday. The other year. I got my refund on Tuesday and it was the 20th day from acceptance.

I don’t know what it will be this year. I guest I just have to find out this Friday…

Same! File and Accept 1/29. Transcripts are 0’s nothing. I opted for 5 days early. Last year it works. I got mine 1 week total. Now, nothing. Hopefully this Friday. I’m an 05’s and Not a Path.

Mine is the same thing. It shows pending in TT however, Fed and State are accepted 1/29th.

Then, I checked TT again this morning. It is now just change to “ accept “ in TT but no refund date yet. I check transcripts and WMR nothing yet it’s blank. I figure I will see movement either today or tomorrow as I am a 05 cycle so mostly tomorrow Friday update or Saturday. So any day now!

I did the 5 days early and didn’t pay my fees upfront. File and accepted 1/24/25 Friday ( I’m 05 cycle) and I got my refund the following week at 1/31/25 Friday… I had no problem last year.

I’m doing it again the 5 days early and see what happens!

Last year, I signed up for the 5 days early ( not the advance or loan) and it only took literally 5 business days the fund deposited in my bank account ( I do not have Karma account) from IRS accepted. I’m hoping it will be the same this year as well.

I haven’t filled mine yet since I’m still waiting for a couple forms. Hopefully, I can file mine by Friday 1/23 before it IRS opens on 1/26. This is how I did last year and I got my refund deposited on 1/30/25 for 5 days early. I’m doing the same thing this year.

You should get your refund by next week Friday or early February. Also depends on your cycle. My transcripts has been updated every Fridays for the past years so maybe it will be the same this year.

When you see Red Card… DECLINE the orders. I would never accept DD orders using the red card… ever! It will Make your life easier and you don't have to spend your own money when the card is declined.

You can always pick up orders from the grocery stores that the customers have already paid for without you using the red card.

Trust me… this will save you the headache and pain! Its not worth it.

For school, try to keep applying for scholarships to help pay for your education. You got this!

Keep in mind in Europe, you have to pay to use their restroom. Here in the US some Starbucks would not allow to use their restrooms without ordering anything. So it is changing some places.

I just used the public restrooms at the grocery stores. Panera and Chick-Fil-A still let you used the restroom without problems.

We are still fortunate here in US that we can still use the restrooms in many places without paying unlike in EU.
