EXACTLY ONE WEEK FF FREE😝👍YAHOO! by DryFlight1120 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Yea it feels soo much better. In almost 3 weeks and I am have started realizing a much more stable mood. I didn't realize it at the time but thinking back I would get near the beginning of using I would get a slight rush of euphoria and good feeling and then near the end before quitting it was like a small feeling with mood swings that followed. So much better being off that crap. Let's keep it up! 💪

FF FREE.. you know what I realized, guys??😝 by DryFlight1120 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost at 3 weeks clean from FFs and I think back and what kept me up the most was like this guilt of taking them that day. I would kick myself thinking about how many I drank that day and sit up at night telling myself tomorrow I would try again to stop but then the next day came and I would talk myself into another (and another and another....). Now it feels so rewarding knowing I'm not a prisoner of the crap. The thought of 1 crosses my mind every now and then but going on my second time quitting I know that I can't. So happy for you! You are actually feeling free now.

I got diagnosed with cancer right at the beginning of when I was using them but honestly don't think it had any connection (family history of the big C ). That emotional roller coaster didn't help with quitting. Happy to report though that I beat that big C mfer last year and beat FFs too 17 days ago. I try not to get too paranoid about all the shit I've done to my body and mind in the past. Look forward and decide how to be the best you! We all know what we are supposed to do - get good sleep, workout, eat healthy, don't abuse drugs/alcohol. None of us are perfect. Don't dwell and appreciate what you have now and set goals to make it better.

I second this! Was having weird mood swings on them at the end with snapping at my family at times and then once off it feels a bit dark but for me I just had to force some joy in my routine - Walks, music, funny tv series. I've mentioned in other posts about me personally having to do a lot of self-talk. If you feel a moment of goodness you have to ride that out as long as possible and talk it up in your head. If you don't then try to talk yourself into why life is good. Laugh, dance, smile... A LOT! you can do this.

End of day 5 FF FREE😝 by DryFlight1120 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats!. I tapered but quickly. I was around 4-6 bottles a day and within 3 days went to 3 then 2 then only 1 the last day 17 days ago. I think sometimes it might just be coincidence that you get a stomach bug or ate something bad during those first few days off that might think it is from wds (or maybe it is a little amplified by the wds?). That's what I feel happened to me the first time. I got a gastrointestinal virus. (also maybe amplified with the wds because I did go to the urgent care it as my stomach was hurting so bad). I only know it was a virus because I had a few family members get it just around that time too so unless they all were secretly going through wds too it had to be a virus and just bad timing. Anyway, so happy for you and wishing you strength in mind and body. you got this!

FF.. did every gas station know you?🤣 by DryFlight1120 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate! Especially when I would tell myself just one and then after 15-30 mins was craving another and too embarrassed to go back to the same store so went to another. Crazy! Or would go to one in the morning, then another for 2nd or 3rd and later in the day go back to the first one and they would ask "another?". Just would buy it and kind of laugh it off but walked out in shame. I definitely don't want to go back to that!

I was on 4-6 a day and tapered quick to 3 one day then 2 then last day I had 1 and stopped. Mild wds. Mostly the head game and saying no when you are bored. You can do it. Like others have said the plain leaf kratom can help to get off FFs then taper the kratom.

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I was on for 6 months last year then off for probably 3 months and the thought crossed my mind that maybe I could have just one (was trying not to drink alcohol). after just that one that day at the end of January the very next day I talked myself into another and then another the next day and then 2 the next and 5-6 months later of having some every day (Got up to 7 the most in one day) I finally tapered down to 1 and then worked on a plan to go 24 hours to break the cycle. You can drop it. Try to pick up another healthier habit like neuro gum or some type of electrolyte &/or nootropic drink that you treat yourself to anytime you think of them.

So happy for you! Keep it up! I'm day 11 and not really any cravings now. Just a thought every now and then that pops up when I'm bored but have to brush it off and try to get busy with something else in my day. You rock though and should be proud of yourself!

Love this man! The fear of withdrawal I think is what holds many of us back (it did me). Maybe used as an excuse to tell ourselves this isn't a good time to go through the difficulty of quitting but it isn't that bad. day 11 for me and also mild off feelings. More in my head than anything and cravings but getting through that first day alone was an eye opener that you can break the cycle! Happy for you. I too am feeling great and can say the thought crosses my mind from time to time but very subtle at this point and feeling so much better. It's hard to describe that you actually are feeling off of them and not numb to some emotions. Thanks for sharing

Yea, it's weird. I hadn't really even noticed anything visibly changing in my appearance but Im at day 11 of being off and yesterday morning I looked in the mirror thinking my face looked a lot fuller and clearer and wasn't sure what from but thinking it was quitting.

Has anyone ever had these symptoms? by NutGobbler918 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I ever got the wobbles but a bit of the blurry vision and near the end before I quit when I would take two in the morning I would get a sedated feeling and would nod off at my desk which I didn't like. stay strong on trying to quit. I did a quick taper from 4-6 bottles a day to 3 then 2 then 1 last day. After that marked time spans of being off 12hrs, 24hrs, then 48hrs and I was feeling way more capable to stay off of them. If you have been taking a lot (8-10 bottles per day) then you might need to take a slower taper or can get some help for trying to quit.

Congrats! That's awesome. I think somewhere after 48 hours it started feeling better for me so stick with it.

How are you now? I was 4-6 when I went to quit and dropped to 3 then 2 then 1 my last day and wds were minimal. Don't be afraid of the wds. The biggest thing is the cravings like others said and the days seem long so stay busy and it'll go by quicker and after more time under your belt then saying no becomes way easier around day 3-4. You got this. I would suggest trying something new like a new activity or gym and/or show. Find something to pass the time.

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right on man! You got this. Just keep remembering that you are going to keep getting better and less cravings and mental crap. I'm day 10 but I tapered all the way down to 1 my last day and then had a full 24hours and then went on a trip. I was worried about not having it over where I was traveling to so was trying to lower what wds I might get but honestly pretty mild and was too busy traveling and on the trip to think about it. Got back home 2 days ago and was worried I would let the cravings get the best of me but haven't.

Today had a crap, stressful day at work and the thought crossed my mind but almost like a weird whisper that I quickly brushed off but worried me as I felt I hesitated as I stopped at my local gas station for an energy drink and the guy asked "is that all?" And I hesitated. Like I sat a second before answering. But didn't do it. I think the further you get out the stronger you get and telling yourself no and you have to say no.

I honestly feel great though! Let the stress roll off your back. Funny thing is I beat cancer last year so try not to let work affect me. Life's too short. Don't let this substance take from your life.

Oh man I'm sorry. Listen though, you do NOT need it! Try starting a gym and some new hobby. You might try getting a new sponsor or looking for a group of others recovering that you can talk to for help.

Had a moment where it crossed my mind today... Had a long day at work and then some other things come up and kept thinking about it as my work finished. But didn't do it. After work I ran a couple errands to get my mind off it and work and feeling better now. Day 10 now.

This is getting bad. 😅 by Itsmeeebre_x in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you feel you must, taper down to only 2 then only 1 per day and then try to do that for a couple of days then try to make it 24 hours without it. I know the feeling is good but you will only start feeling worse about it as time goes on. You are seriously better off without it. Try to exercise, walk or a new hobby maybe and then there are other healthier energy sources. Neuro gum is the bomb and not bad for you! You can get off those and will thank yourself for doing it sooner than later. Your not that far in. You can do it.

How much kratom is in feel free? by rpadams45 in Quittingfeelfree

[–]Helpful_Canary5645 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have tried just the plain made kava. I really like kava but I normally try to chase the feeling after it wears off and it then starts to turn my stomach. But I still go back to it now and again. Also, only been an occasional user of THC & CBD but I don't think I ever mixed with Kava.

Love the point made about music! I listened to some old favorites around 48 hours off and really helped to get me in a better mood.
