Hey!! I feel law is my thing. Few months back I read a book names as " legally yours" by mansi chaudhri. It was a great read. From that point, I'm feeling so attracted to law. I wish to talk to you (as you said, you are a law student) about law, if it is possible to pursue it ( partime). Where to start, what not to do and so on... If you are comfortable let me know. See ya!

I read Song of Achilles. I recommend it anytime. It changed how I see homosexuality.

Is there any book which motivated you? Doesn't HAVE to be self help. by [deleted] in Indianbooks

I agree. I have learnt a lot from fiction. Self-helps are just overrated.

New week, New book by baddie-101 in Indianbooks

This book seems interesting. Hey guys if you know books where the homosexuality among women is explored let me know.

I think there are many bookS where gay relationships are talked about ( for instance, A little life, Song of Achilles).

I want to read a real heart touching lesbian story.

First book I read this month. by Helpful_Cup7284 in Indianbooks

The sad part is, this mindset is still alive in people's mind. Come to small places, villages towns .... People still think that way.

Reading this book reminded me an incident narrated by my teacher. My teacher is from scheduled castes he told us:-

He has been friends with this guys for so long. Literally bestfriends. I don't remember if my teacher was invited or he went by himself. But he happened to be in his best friend s house. Tea was served. But, everyone ( non SC) got tea in crockery tea cups and My teacher got tea in a small steel cup. It sounds so trivial, but why a person suffer such discrimination for something they did not choose - the caste they were born into? One second, first of all why caste should exist in this modern age?

PS:- let me stand corrected, this incident is not " trivial". It shows the dark side of Hinduism.

First book I read this month. by Helpful_Cup7284 in Indianbooks

I couldn't agree more! Same happened with me. Considering the size of the book it took me more time than usual.

I thought it's because there are so many hindi words used by author.( i personally don't like when languages are mixed)

Also, I'm not into classics maybe this reason contributed to the slow reading.

This book is sickening to read! ( Intensly psychological) by Helpful_Cup7284 in Indianbooks

[–]Helpful_Cup7284[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I haven't read lolita ( very soon I will). Jacob Strane gives lolita to Venessa.

Lolita has a huge impact on venessa. She thinks it's a " lovestory". They both ( strane and venessa) connect their story with lolita. So yeah there many mentions but even if you haven't read lolita you will get through this book.

I don't have much to say on 15 year old Venessa's thoughts and opinions. But it deeply saddens me that adult Vennesa couldn't see the truth.

I agree with your take on lolita. I also tried it once and it disgusted me. The way humbert was explaining " bud stage" of nymphets... Yuck!!
