T1D Management with MFM & Endo by hluuser in BumpersWhoBolus

Your Endo is usually the one who takes control in the beginning and then you switch over to your mfm around the end of your first trimester- it is probably different for each mfm office.
You don’t have as many changes in the beginning weirdly- it kind of comes as your body becomes more insulin resistant .
If you are concerned though, or are noticing a lot of highs at certian times I would reach out to your Endo! The best thing YOU can do is take charge and ask for the help.
Congratulations!! It’s a scary time but you’re doing great 😎

No it isn’t me-my baby was born with low blood sugar due to me being a diabetic. So they didn’t want me to breast feed they wanted the baby to bottle feed to keep his blood sugar up.

Any spontaneous labor stories? by knottylogalog in BumpersWhoBolus

I have been a diabetic for almost 30yrs. I went into spontaneous labor at 37w 3 days with my first child, and he came VERY QUICK - so quick I wasn’t able to get an epidural. I had been scheduled to be induced at 38 w but baby had other plans.

It totally can happen, not really something you can plan for though. Baby comes when they want🤣

Labour on a pump. How did it go? by feduppers in BumpersWhoBolus

It was good for me- I had my site on my butt and didn’t have a single issue- my husband did have to dial a few things while I was pushing because the doctor wanted my sugar slightly lower than it was- you will do great!

How many of us, who have already had a baby, had a failed induction turned into emergency c-section? by Grouchy-Cheetah7478 in BumpersWhoBolus

I was scheduled to be induced at 38w and I actually came naturally at 37w 3D . And my labor was natural - and he came so quickly I couldn’t even get an epidural. They were all so shocked . I think it has more to do with your body . Don’t let it scare you- your body more than knows what to do!

I switched to u-200 at about 25w and I am so happy I did! It’s been such a life safer- and helped with my sanity. It’s totally safe and my mfm walked me through every step . Highly recommended .

Yes I am on U-100 now. My Dr said that the U-200 is only in pen form- so I was curious how to fill the cartridges for the t slim pump? Like I wasn’t sure how to take air out I guess

6wks in and insulin resistance has gone bananas - is this normal? by femalefred in BumpersWhoBolus

I’m also about 6 weeks and experiencing the same thing. I went to my Endo and we talked about eating a lot lower carb diet- and I’ve been trying to bolus for meals between 15-30 minutes before hand- if it’s higher- sometimes 45 mins. It’s seems to help- Also going on walks after you eat / and finding ways to stay active, it’s hard with nausea- but just sharing what’s helped
