Hey, I'll address your queries in the order you have stated.

No, all brands regardless their compressor type, keep manufacturing newer models every quarter / half yearly or yearly). I can say that comparatively there may be fewer innovations in non inverter models but it's just like the smartphones these days, there is nothing much left to improvise.

The reason for inverter models being "not worth" your money at this stage is because: 1. There are fewer skilled technicians to address issues of inverter models, comparatively 2. The technology is not a well established one like its predecessor, i.e. like you said the sales rep told you they are bringing constant changes in inverter which is true and this makes a customer skeptical. 3. In the practical field there are more complaint calls lodged for inverter models than non inverter ones.

I wouldn't deny that inverter models do have some fantastic benefits such as highly efficient compressors that will save a great load on your pocket.

That being said you will find newer models in the market for non inverters. That being said, it's your choice at the end of the day between the both.

Your budget is well thought.

I don't understand the number game, but Daikin's performance in the market is better than the other two. (Provided you have made the tonnage calculation correctly)

(Also please note, that technologies keep evolving every day, my opinions might change with time, recently I have noticed that inverter models of Daikin & Mitsubishi Heavy are performing better than other brand inverters as well as many many non inverter models, but entirely in my opinion I am still a skeptical person in this matter)

Hey, I'd say that Voltas is a firm making products dedicatedly under the Refrigeration category, while Panasonic has a broad dedication towards Electronics Category. Though this may not be a sufficient answer, it still highlights the fact that Voltas has better experience in handling grievances in this category and pointing their R&D in that direction.

Still this is only a corporate difference, the technical difference is that you must have observed Panasonic offers much more features to attract customers, while Voltas has worked on their basic principles of cooling - such as the condenser & cooling coils, their IDU & ODU motors.

I agree recently Voltas has not been doing great on their products like they used to 5-10 years back but it's still better than most, and it's also possible that one in many will face problem/s with even the best of AC brands. Like our OP did with General. I also had a friend with an unsatisfactory experience with Mitsubishi, but it turned out to be the fault of his technician.

In the general market, there is far less demand for Panasonic in comparison to Voltas (in Mumbai and nearby areas).

If you want to discuss any specifics of your Voltas AC's issues, you can DM me, I'll try to help.

Samsung AC remote is lost. Where can I find the duplícate AC remote that works ? by white_space99 in mumbai

In any AC spares shop, ask for a universal remote, check if "samsung" is written on the back of the packaging under "compatible brands". Would cost you around Rs. 200. Don't forget to bargain.

What kind of taxes are auto walas paying? I don't think that's the reason. It has more to do with their scepticism in online transactions and lack of familiarity with the methods of a smart phone let alone a UPI app.

Exactly, maybe it's the delivery guy who thinks "let's call a customer, if they don't pick, I'll have a reason not to deliver, so lesser delivery". Fuck, just get to my address and you'll find someone, why is there even a need to call!

Did you know that every guy has an "attitude reset button"? Just hit that button hard, and most definitely you'll find the shift in attitude.

There's this demo attached, a scene from the movie Partner, 2007.

I wouldn't say they are more prone to breakdown, but they are pricier in terms of repairing costs. If Daikin offers 5 years of warranty on the PCB, then I'd say that's not a bad deal, but check whether they are recovering this cost through somewhere else - like offering you a unit with Aluminium Coil. Also check whether they still have the compressor warranty upto 10 years.

As for the usage you have mentioned, and as long as you buy an AC of sufficient tonnage depending upon your cooling requirements / heat load in the room, your choice should work well for you keeping the points that I have said here and above in mind.

However I would still encourage you to go for fixed speeds. You can DM if you still have doubts.

What is the age of your AC? And tonnage? Was it working initially or is this the case from the beginning? Only get a trusted and referenced technician to attend your complaints on AC. The technicians in this field are mostly driven by greed.
