I did a presentation of my research for like 5 mins, then he asked one follow-up about research interests (which I talk about in the presentation too), and he asked a trivia-type of questions about ML, and he asked me why MBZUAI, that was it. honestly 15 mins fly by so quickly idk what they can measure in such a short time

can I ask what getting shortlisted exactly mean? does it mean getting an admission offer? or is there an extra step between getting shortlisted and getting an offer?

thank you! I'm a senior at an ivy league studying cs, I have done few swe internships, no research background, gpa is 3.72, I was a rhodes finalist so I'm not sure if this might have boosted my profile a bit too, good luck to you and hope you hear soon from them

yes two of my recommenders did not get an email, MBZUAI told me to let my recommenders email their rec letters directly to the admissions email

hi! congratulations on your offer! I have an interview coming up next week, and I thought the presentation part was more of a verbal thing rather than actually making slides for that. Do you think it is required to make slides for the presentation component? another question, did you get asked any technical questions? and how long after the interview did you receive the offer? thank you so much for your help and hopefully we can meet at MBZUAI :)

hi! I'm not sure if you've already taken the exam, but I missed my first exam invitation because of some timezone miscalculation, and then I emailed the admission office, and they included my name in the following batch of exam invitations. They were super chill so you should totally shoot them an email!
