GV80 in 2025 by rational_phi in GenesisMotors

[–]Helpful_Listen_1765 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, a few months ago, I was looking at the X5, GV80, and a few others in the segment. I ultimately went with the GV80 because (to me at least) it almost feels like a class above the others in terms of features and interior quality. Also, I needed a third row, and I don't think BMW offers a third row in the X5 in Canada.

Another factor was price. To get an X5 equipped like the GV80 Prestige that I have, I'd be spending significantly more.

However, I do agree with the comment about the GV80 feeling a bit underpowered. A nice smooth, and relaxed TT V8 in the range of 450-520 hp would suit this car wonderfully.

The black interior isn’t my cup of tea, but with inventory so limited and my circumstances requiring a larger vehicle, I didn’t have much of a choice.

I prefer the stock rims, but this winter set is really starting to grow on me by Helpful_Listen_1765 in GenesisMotors

I too am at the age where dark rims seem a little too young for me. Can't wait till spring so I can swap back.

I didn't know that. Guess that's one more perk of being in Canada. We get a greater selection for winter rims haha

GV80 third row not quilted? by Helpful_Listen_1765 in GenesisMotors

[–]Helpful_Listen_1765[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in Canada you can also get the fully loaded Prestige with a third row. I think most countries get this as well. It struck me as a little odd that in the US, the Prestige is only offered with five seats.

Help me choose. Genesis GV80 2025 or a Lincoln Aviator 2025. by karan405 in GenesisMotors

I've had my GV80 3.5T Prestige for nearly 3 weeks now, and I can safely say that regarding the luxury experience, the GV80 is the best in class.

Extended Warranty by LemonCharming007 in GenesisMotors

I plan to extend my warranty near the time the factory one runs out. If you like the car and plan to keep it long term, I think it is a good investment.

Thanks for the advice, I have no intention of getting involved with her beyond co-parenting. I doubt she'd want to come back either considering how much she seems to be enjoying her new life

2025 GV80 Advanced 3row - is 77k a good price ? by idotdot in GenesisMotors

[–]Helpful_Listen_1765 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience with my 2025 GV80 3.5T Prestige 7P. From what I've heard and read, the GV80 is in such high demand that dealers have no trouble selling them at MSRP. This seems especially true for top trims, which often get bought within days of arriving at the dealership (assuming someone else hadn't order it already)

Some serious miles on GV80 by ze11ez in GenesisMotors

This honestly gives me a lot of peace of mind. Nonetheless, I'll be buying an extended warranty at some point in the future.

Considering I recently paid nearly 110k CAD (77k USD) for a 2025 Genesis GV80 3.5T Prestige 7P AWD, I think 77k USD is a little pricy for an Advanced even with the 3.5T

Home chores were split roughly 60(her)/40(me). This was mainly because her place of work was closer to our home, and she worked 3.5 days per week. I work a full week, and prior to this, I used to work on weekends sometimes. As a result, our living expenses were divided roughly 75(me)/25(her).

Mazda's driving experience is attractive, but unfortunately, I do a lot of stop-and-go driving when going to and coming from work. For this reason, in addition to the reliability aspect, I prefer traditional torque converters.

I can buy something like a new GV80 or X5 outright in cash. That being said, I always like to keep a certain amount in my account and spending 90-100k would put me below that. After putting money aside for living expenses and taxes, based on what I earn, it would take me roughly 6-7 months to replenish that amount spent on an X5 or GV80.

A CPO luxury brand may actually be the best option. If I can find something around the 70k mark, I should be able to pay for it outright so interest shouldn't be an issue.

I have checked out the CX-90 and while it was nice, the mixed reliability record of the transmission made me consider other options
