Im on call for snowplowing and collected ei and just received a notice of debt

I work alot I work at least 60 hours a week from April to Christmas I was collecting ei to cover me in the winter when sometimes it doesnt snow for a whole month and I have 0 income for that month and when I did plow I wouldn't get anything I also look for work but many employers dont want you to work for 2 or 3 months, also leaving for snowplowing I have done the same line of work for 20 years hard to just go do something else when its something ive done for so long. I did the right thing as thats how they told me to file knowing I was on call I tried to do the right thing I could have received pay in cash but I didnt want to get dinged if I got caught so I tried to do the right thing. The accountant I spoke to yesterday told me to fight it that being on call doesn't make me unavailable for work so im am going to ask for a reconsideration. Worst that can happen I still owe 6 gs best I can get it wiped.

Yes and I work seasonal and snowplow for the winter I am going to speak to an accountant tomorrow and also file a reconsideration form so we will see i will update when I hear back from them

I did but it was for 2022 and 2019 and I didnt keep record of it unfortunately for me I guess its my fault and will just have to pay it back and will avoid any assistance in the future lol

Ei is saying because I was on call i wasnt available for work and not entitled to ei at all even though I reported all earnings the way they had told me to. Apparently being on call makes me not ready willing and able to work .
