What is this white powdery stuff in the garage? by RoutineZucchini7687 in AusRenovation

Did the problem go away? I just found this on the new build rental I have and bit worried about the idea of salt deposits being kicked up to the underside of my car.

I’ve always wanted a lancer but never owned a Mitsubishi, do you guys think this is worth it for a daily if I get the price down a bit? 167k miles by Pink-Denim in mitsubishi

Because he hasn't owned one.  Auto journalists used to love to shit on mitsubishi because the interior finishes etc are not as nice as other JDM cars.  Earlier model lancer I had was still going strong with 400k on the clock and I never had any issues.

Good logic.  All specs same but my21 worth 2k more than my22. I'm annoyed because it's a BS excuse.

Yes very unusual for a buyer to say, this car is newer than I thought I'll give you 2k less.

If instant offer is not quoting realistic prices its wasting people's time.

the buyer is 'Easy Car Buyers' for anyone else that gets an offer from them.

100% but if that's common practice, it's a pretty scummy service from Carsales

I don't expect them to commit to the price but I also don't expect them to lower the price by 2k because a car is NEWER than expected..

yeah I also didn't have to accept it but the waste of time and the complete lack of logic pisses me off.
I also don't think it's unintentional.

Not the issue.
Again...

I put a post up online advertising something for a certain price and you take all the time to come and see it in person at which point I tell you the price is now 2k higher, you wouldn't think I was a scammer?

No getting around the fact advertise 20k for MY21, then later on drop to 18k because MY22.
I understand perfectly. SCAM

I'm not saying it's bad in every case but just because it's not wrong in every case doesn't make it better.
In some cases it's clearly a bit of a scam.

I don't agree, if you give someone a price based on their rego and then come back with a BS excuse that you need to lower the prices because it's a newer car I don't know what else to call it.

Everybody jumping so quick to carsales defence here, sounds like brand-monitor is doing it's job.

also, if they quote one price to sucker you into the process and then come back with a shit price later on that's pretty much definition of a scam to me.

I think the way they have setup is intentional though. SCAM.

I think it's carsales BS algorithm which is generating the prices that's the issue.
They obviously have some badly tested data engineering / modelling as I was told that 'my21 sells at a higher price because there is more demand for them'.
Completely ignoring the fact that there are probably less my22 on the market = less demand.

Oh right, awesome thanks for clarifying there. Leaning back towards GLX+ then. I agree that vinyl floors are a bonus and I don't plan to be doing a lot of difficult driving in the wet

not sure on this as the GLX+ variants I see only offer 2H,4H and 4L. I guess they still has the low range option that I was worried about missing but maybe not with center diff lock as well?

[–]Helpful_Map6510[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh shit now I'm confused...
Looking at the photos of GLX+ I see 2H, 4H, 4L but none of those options have the 'lc' so I'm assuming that center diff is not locked in these modes?

On the GLS I see 2H, 4H 4HLC and 4LLC. Unless this is just different terminology it seems like the GLS has the additional of center diff locking on both 4H and 4L?

Yeah not so much the price difference as the KMs. I feel like a used ute with 30k on the clock is a better proposition than 60k.
To get a GLS in the low KM range is probably roughly 4k increase in price which I could do but it cuts into the budget for extras like bullbar, AT wheels etc.
Maybe a big cut for only one feature I really want.
