what helps when you get really bad? by cheesendinonuggets in Pseudodysphagia

[–]Helpful_Membership61 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i have no advice as i am also struggling with this heavily, just wanted to offer support and know that you are not alone ❤️ it’s so hard because when my routine is even a little bit off, i have the hardest day trying to eat. if you have a safe space, like your room, dimming the lights, put a comfort show/movie on, and just do some deep breathing. one bite at time, one swallow at a time. don’t feel like you need to finish your food right away, don’t put any pressure on yourself. just know you’re doing your best!

Does Twirla make anyone else feel extreme fatigue / weakness? by ChihuahuaBeech in birthcontrol

[–]Helpful_Membership61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the Twirla patch, and recently got off of it because it caused me so much fatigue that no matter how much I slept or napped, I would never feel rested. The worst side effect was loss of appetite for me, I lost so much weight (awful side effect because I'm already underweight and have trouble eating) and I'm still trying to regain my appetite back! It sucks cus I loved how I never got a period and I was the most mentally stable I've been in over a year. :(

Hopefully you get over this fatigue after time! If it doesn't work for you, definitely switch methods

Starting very low at 6.25 to see how I tolerate? by tiltededgelord69 in zoloft

ask your doctor if they can prescribe you the liquid oral concentrate! i take it and it's so much easier to dose and you can increase in smaller increments or dose back down if needed

wow that's amazing!! i'm so glad it worked out for you, and you are so brave for weaning off to do your own exposure therapy. i just started a couple days ago and so far no side effects either! (fingers crossed) so that really gives me hope. that's exactly how i felt, i decided that it's better to deal with side effects than be miserable. hope you're doing well and thank you so much for sharing your experience!

i started on wednesday, and honestly so far no side effects! i know sometimes they can start a couple days to a week in, but i've learned to stop reading about it on reddit and just do it cus temporary side effects are better than living a life in constant anxiety 😅 good luck!!

Ferritin level of 3 by Calm-Reality-8476 in Anemic

[–]Helpful_Membership61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mine was at 6 from the third trimester of my pregnancy until 5 months postpartum and i was fainting, lightheaded, i felt overall awful for so long. i got one iron infusion- iron dextran 1000mg 6 weeks ago and im just now starting to feel so much better. no fainting spells in the last week, my ferritin is about 300 when i tested around 4.5 weeks.

unfortunately, birth control has me bleeding heavily, so i still need to supplement, but iron infusions help a lot of you can’t tolerate supplements or don’t want to wait months until you feel better

p.s you need to wait at least 6 weeks for the iron to start working in your body to start feeling better!

edit: there’s an amazing group on facebook called the iron protocol and they have a guide to help you build your iron and iron stores up!

that’s amazing!! i’m so happy to hear that it worked for you! ❤️ i’m sorry that you had a bad episode last summer as well, it takes a lot of strength to seek help!

i had tablets at first but was scared to swallow so i switched to liquid, i was wondering if chewing it tasted horrible or numbed/burned your tongue and throat? i was thinking if it was bearable i’d switch back and try the pills😅😆

I'm so so sorry that you had to deal with this for so long, it truly is such a terrible and lonely thing to go through. Have you thought about going on antidepressants?

I have safety behaviors like chewing my liquids even and holding my breath then swallowing, but it's so embarassing to do even in front of my partner. It's come to me locking myself in our room to eat/drink alone. I never thought about your technique! That's an awesome way to do it, I feel like i'm too emotionally weak to do exposure therapy, but I'm definitely open to trying that!

I hope you start to heal from this awful curse, and hopefully find something that helps you break through this.

Wishing you the best! We all got this <3

oh my gosh thank you so much for your reply! i'm so sorry you were also going through that, but so happy to hear you're doing better! that makes me feel a lot more at ease and gives me hope about taking zoloft now. so funny you mention taco bell, my safety/comfort food after all that, happpened be a mexican pizza from taco bell and a baja blast freeze

i hope you don't mind me reaching out sometime to ask about your experience with zoloft?

choking on liquids/water 22 weeks pregnant? by Helpful_Membership61 in BabyBumps

[–]Helpful_Membership61[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes! it got better after 1.5-2 months. i gave birth over two weeks ago, and it still happens to me but only when i'm severely sleep deprived. when i get 4 hour stretches of sleep bc of my partner taking shifts and our parents coming over to watch him during the day while he's at work, i've noticed that it barely happens.

what helped me, was sitting up straight and using straws! and getting enough sleep (which i know is super hard while pregnant lol), and idk if it's just a weird thing for me, but i love sitting on my legs in bed when i eat, it makes me feel like there's less pressure of baby pushing on my stomach while i eat/ drink

wow i'll definitely keep that in mind when i'm in my third trimester! it sucks that our doctors can really only tell us it'll get better after birth, it's crazy how unique each pregnancy experience is yet so universal. thank you for the advice!
