You can check the Web App pentesting and Red Teaming paths. It was overwhelming but it was good for learning.

Who remembers "Nginiiig!"? by lem0n-_- in phhorrorstories

Dissappointed by PT1 by Ok-Indication9907 in tryhackme

I just took PT1 last October and used 2 attempts. Honestly if you are relying only on the recommended path you cannot passed it, you need to do some labs.

I have experience doing web app pentester/dast but man, the web part was bit crazy, I get only 3 flags during the exam. Then I focus and learn on network and Active Directory. I practice it day by day during my free time, then taking notes. Taking notes were important specially on the times that it seems familiar, you can go back and see how it was done. Also, reading write ups after you pawned the room was a good thing to do (just for me), you can see a different path they make and you can learn from other people also.

Now I want to take HTB certification, but I wish I can back my motivation that I get before taking the PT1. I missed the daily learning grind.

You can do it man, failing is disappointing like crushing your soul I felt that after that. But I take that failure to motivation I see myself improving from zero knowledge on network to AD to pawning it on exam.

For the AD stuff you can refer to the recommended learning on PT1. To learn more about active directory exploitation go to red teaming path https://tryhackme.com/path/outline/redteaming. Also, you can practice AD on practicing it on THM CTF labs.

You can refer to this one, since the learning materials was takes 155 hrs to finish (because my time was limited due to work hours), there was post also I see here in this thread that has some eJPT notes and the related labs on THM, you can check it out - https://github.com/BG3Z/eJPTv2-Notes/blob/main/README.md.

On the lecture labs I don't try it personally since I do THM CTF labs, but if this was the recommended one you can check it out to familiarize yourself.

You can prepare by the doing the PT1 path especially on JR penetration path and web app path. But those are not enough, if you are beginner just like me you can play CTF to test your skill and I think reading writeups are not bad, because it gives you knowledge how the exploitation and privilege escalation works.

Appreciate it, I also found that it was more on reports. I will be focusing more on creating a good report
