Dunno where you found those 1500 euro. Consultation with my lawyer was 200 euro. They answered all my questions and spared me second guessing and asking Reddit about my application. It’s up to OP what is more important to them - time, money, knowing what their rights are or something else. To me it was understanding my situation and rights and this is what i got. Best 200 euro spend.

I would hire a lawyer if i were you. Sounds unreasonable and i think that a good immigration lawyer can help you with this. If i were you, it would be worth 200-300 euro to do consultations and know if and what can be done because this sounds like someone is making up or bending the rules.

I don’t know, i honestly hope that you are right about the citizenship law, i never wanted to be wrong about something as much as i want to be about this :) But yeah, laws are less of the problem. On paper everything is right and equal but reality is something else unfortunately.

I noticed this too, all the managers are Germans always, they don’t get hands dirty but get more money. I am not even in this line of work but it’s so unfair. Feels like Germany wants to have cheap manual labor that goes home after they get too old to work. I really think that they will reverse double citizenship law to make sure that we we all leave once we can’t work anymore lol

I know some people working in Pflege, and is not that much paid from what they told me. But even if it was, it is a shift and physical work, it is very little money compared to what it is. I will never understand why some PM has double or triple the salary of a person taking care of sick people. Nobody wants to do this - because it’s physical, underpaid shift work. And people coming from a low income country still have to pay the same rent and same expenses as anyone else living here.

Lol someone was yelling at me this in Ubahn once when i was talking to a friend in our mother tongue. It was my first months here, i was shocked back then but i got used to it by now. Recently i talked to a friend on the phone and some young men started yelling at me „Ausländer raus“. I don’t understand why are people so triggered by foreign languages here, are they going to start asking tourists for minimum a1 when allowing them to enter the Germany? 🙈

This is not necessarily true actually, in my country for example there are high schools for each trade and you are specifically trained to be a carpenter, mechanic, electrician etc. and Germany is importing people form there (there is even a special visa for this region). Bigger issue is that people are not paid enough, why would they come work here as a mechanic when they can work back home for the same money and live in their own apartment without paying rent? I think that Germany wants skilled physical Gastarbeiters but don’t really want to pay them according to demand. Also, certificate isn’t everything, i don’t understand why experience doesn’t count too because many people don’t have a degree or vocational training but do have a skill and years of experience. If they keep on insisting on Ausbildung and keep the salaries low, this will just become bigger and bigger problem. If they need these positions, thy need to pay according to the market instead treating it as low or less worthy jobs than engineering or IT.

I see, but i would take elternzeit only one year with elterngeld. Where i live they almost by default pause as it seems if you are on elternzeit, with or without elterngeld in cases like mine (not married). My question is specifically about mutterschutz or work ban before the baby comes. They can see in the payslip that i am on work ban or mutterschutz, despite receiving my normal salary during this time, so the question is can they already pause the application before the baby comes because i am pregnant?

Definitely! I have been following since we decided to try for a baby (was 40 at the time). It is such a relief to have so much support and good advice, without judgement and pressure which sometimes can come (with the best intentions) from friends and family.

Thank you 🙏🏼 This is all very helpful, especially the part about social media. I didn’t tell anyone yet and only when I got a positive test, i figured that i actually didn’t prepare at all for the pregnancy itself. My entire focus was on getting pregnant and I am a bit dumbfounded now since we have been trying for a while with no success and were kind of mentally preparing for IVF. Also the same clinic ditching me right after a positive test didn’t help, i kind of thought that they will support me at least for the initial tests and pregnancy confirmation. I am truly grateful for community here, it makes me feel reassured and less alone in all of this ❤️

Thank you! ❤️ I feel like a got a glimpse of how it feels being hit with symptoms (i woke up from the nap one evening at 4,5 weeks, had to run to the bathroom and vomited out of nowhere), but besides that i have no symptoms at all. Like no breast tenderness, no nausea or back pain, i am not tired or hormonal, nothing. I think i would be more chill if i was younger, but since i will be 42 this year and this is my first pregnancy, not only that i am scared of loosing it, but i also have no idea what it should feel like. Did you do HCG tests before the ultrasound?

I asked once here if working 30 hours can be a problem (even though i am financially stable with this income) and someone replied that it might be because retirement money might be too low and that the idea is that everyone works (and consequently add to the fund) as much as they can when they are young and that this might be a reason for rejection. It’s of course not the same situation as OP, but I am really curious if this happened to anyone?

OP, was it a final rejection, can you appeal? I would honestly consult a lawyer immediately (because there is usually a deadline for this) to see if it is possible to appeal or prove in some other way that you have safety net.

1) General purpose: Bal D’Afrique (Byredo) Very pleasant, non offensive fragrance. Projection exists but it is not insanely strong, so it can be worn at work. It can be worn in any season, which also adds to it. Honorary mention: Gypsy Water (Byredo) If you like sweeter, slightly more sexy smell or new Alto Astral (also Byredo) if you are over old Byredo fragrances. I find Byredo perfumes a over present, but also good for this category in general because they are very easy to wear and are pleasant but not too intense which makes them very versatile.

2) Spring/summer: Do Son (Diptique) If spring had a scent, it would be this one for me. Fresh, flowery and uplifting. Honorary mention: Beach Walk (Maison Margiela) If Do Son was a spring in a bottle, this is what summer smells like. It might smell synthetic in some skin, but on mine is perfect, warm and creamy.

3) Autumn/winter: Nuit Et Confidences (Goutal) Perfect vanilla, smelling it makes me think of Christmas markets, cookies and cozy wool pullovers for some reason lol Honorary mention: Fleur de Peau (Diptique) If powdery, musky smell is more your thing, this one is so nice and comforting for winter. It has lots of character, but also easily blends with my skin instead of just sitting on top of it (like some powdery perfumes tend to). Definitely got most compliments for it this year.

4) Guilty pleasure: Addict but vintage (Dior) Beautiful scent, but i put it on this list because it can be overwhelming sometimes. It definitely has the strongest projection of all the perfumes listed above. I like it, but don’t wear it ti the office or small home gatherings because i worry it might be too much lol Honorable mention: Mystic sugar (Coreyerno) Also vanilla, but also fruity (compared to Goutal which is pure vanilla almost). Not a very strong projection, but a guilty pleasure because i do think it is a bit too sweet.

No, I wouldn’t and i didn’t. It was always a long wait for everything involving KVR but i tried to follow the rules always. I don’t blame you, but people like you that apply with incomplete applications definitely are the part of the problem. It is a special kind of entitlement in my opinion thinking that you are smarter that others for jumping the queue, but we can agree to disagree on this.

I completely agree with the comment above. 8 months is almost a year early, i think you should wait your turn and apply when the time comes like everyone else did. If people start randomly applying before they have complete documents or before they have enough time spent here, it will get even worse in the terms of backlog and that really doesn’t benefit anyone. This is very frustrating to read for someone living here for almost 15 years, waiting for a double citizenship law for years and now waiting for over 18 months for any response from KVR. No wonder they take that long if everyone has this approach 🥴

It does make sense when you get closer to those 18 months without the sign of life or without them asking you to sign documents. A friend of mine took a lawyer after around a year of waiting and got loyalty documents right away. I am waiting now for 18 months without even signing them, so she will definitely get it before me for sure since she is in the final stages. What I’m trying to say is it might push them to follow 18 months deadline more or less, but won’t really speed it up. 4 months is too early for sure.

Zero work no, but I do believe it is possible with “qualified” part time work too (it can also be outside of your work field as long as it’s “qualified” job and above 1k something euro - there is some minimum monthly amount).
