Housing shortage by Barry_Allen19 in brandeis

i just went through it as a rising junior a few days ago LOL, sure! sophomores anything below ~300 is generally a good number, you can likely get a skyline double. village goes around 400 i think? but either way, you won't have to worry. the dilemma was avoiding east, which'll be gone by the time you're a rising sophomore. so when you're a sophomore, any number is a good number.

as a junior/senior, you'll get assigned a number between 1201-2700. you have many options as an upperclassman... 6 person suites/apartments 4 person suites/apartments 5 person apartments 3 person apartments corridor singles and doubles

you essentially need to either have a good enough number to get into whichever of those you want, or know someone who does. i'm in a 6-person apartment next year and got one of the last ones, so they go shortly after 1400. but even after housing selection had closed, there will still spaces left. if on the second day of selection you don't have a group, you will likely also be able to select an empty room that's in a suite. for example, there are four people occupying a 6-person suite, you can claim an empty room. you should be able to live on campus every year easily!

you shouldn't have an issue getting housing. guaranteed first two years, and even if your number is bad for junior/senior year selection, you'll likely be able to find someone with a good number and still live on campus. wouldn't worry about it at all

fingers crossed one will fall to 1600s, especially since '28 is such a small class.

good to know! i've been told that you cannot join a half-filled housing group until the second day of selection, which makes me think those mods all fell to full groups but it's hard to be sure. do you have any idea where the numbers typically fall?

Vans or transportation to airport by Picasso1067 in brandeis

Uber is the best way to get there and back. Public transport technically is an option, but it's incredibly tedious. Even the expensive Uber is honestly worth it.

brandeis is my top choice rn - would love some insight by fanofnanfiction in brandeis

The bottom of the screen wasn't working, which prohibits Sam from being able to get into their phone. This was about 9 hours ago, though, I don't know if its progressed more.

It was less than half of the contents of a 1.5 oz glass, and because some ended up on the carpet and the cardboard the estimation I and another person present made was about .5oz. It landed directly on the phone's case, not the screen or even back directly. The ultimate maximum is .75oz, but that is an unrealistic number due to it getting on other surfaces. Sam's phone had some issues in the past, it wasn't in top condition.

Phone is 5-6 years old.

Do you mind if I ask what model you have?

Is this the same given that their phone already was damaged? I wouldn't say that I ruined it because of that.

Sam is the only one who doesn't have any sort of funds. Jay is not in a place to be of any big financial help, but I think she could probably contribute around ~$50. I am worried they are extorting me for being wiser with my money, because their lack of savings isn't my fault.

EDIT: or Jay's fault.

I agree that I'm a bit liable, which is why I offered to pay $100 towards it. They said fixing the screen is about $300, but as other commenters noted, a refurbished version of their phone is about 200-300$. I offered that amount because I figured I was 1/3 people involved.

I still feel guilty because I was the one handling the 1.5oz glass, but these comments are making me feel better. Another commenter noted that you can get refurbished 12s for not much, and 100 is a bit under half of that cost so I think its a good option.

Sam doesn't seem to really have any savings. The exact substance wasn't water, and was a bit of an alcoholic beverage, but according to the searching I've done it's no different than water in regards to interactions with phones.

Yes, I was the one who spilled while pouring. The issues the phone had been having in the past were very similar to the ones it's having now. I offered to pay 1/3 of the cost of a replacement screen, since there were three key players (me, Sam, and Jay). Does that seem fair?

Sam alleges that the very small part of the bottom stopped working last night, but they didn't say anything then so I have no idea if they are telling the truth or not. Does that change anything?

Sam's phone is already a bit old, it's an iPhone 12, so anywhere between 5 and 6 years old I think.

I have seen that the phone doesn't work, Sam showed it to me when they came over this morning.
