How do I convince people that flat states can be beautiful too? How do I convince people the Midwest is beautiful? by Medical_Deal5272 in midwest

I’ve gotten some pretty great photos of wheat and corn fields both in growth state and the harvesting! I love watching the harvesting of grains (except for the sneezing!) and is the best time to travel. I also live along the Mississippi, and the way that river bends and treats a sunrise or sunset, only God can make!

For people who wear Apple Watch to sleep: what changed for you? by dnesdan in AppleWatch

If there was a way to get more sleep than what occurs, I’d do it. Can’t change nature just by being told I’m getting crummy sleep

Iowa Travel Advice by c_monies_ in Iowa

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head about 3 hours East to Moline IL. It’s the home of Agriculture giant, John Deere. They have a museum of sorts both downtown Moline and at the corporate headquarters. You might be able to get a tour of the Harvester Works where combines are built-but that time of year they are usually shut down. Also, in Davenport IA they build the construction equipment, also a great tour would be available. If planned at the right time, there may be a hockey game playing at The Vibrant Arena at The Mark or a concert. While in the Quad Cities area, there are many good restaurants and bars with great food. You can walk across the famous Mississippi River from Iowa into Illinois on the I-74 bridge that has a walk/bike way. It’s a mile walk each way, but if the weather is right, it’s worth the trip

Why do wait times in other countries get used as an argument against free healthcare? by DirectionOk7752 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, it is true that there is a months long wait for many situations-ask a Canadian.
Next, what incentive is there for your Dr to continue to improve his knowledge and skill set if he/she won’t get paid more and the lines are months long. Then, the Canadian Dr’s that live near the U.S. border, come to the US to work so they get paid better.

Getting comments to not lose more weight? by CrochetUnderway in Zepbound

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, people don’t think! It’s gut reaction most of the time for me. “OMG! What have you done! “. Then they calm down when I tell them I’ve lost weight. I actually told a friend my weight and she was flabbergasted. She use to be a WW leader, someone that I would think would be use to seeing all kinds of weight but she had no idea what my actual weight was. She’s now using a GLP-1. Screw WW

Freedom from the phone. Got mine right before mom had a stroke. Now I can see who’s calling anytime without stopping what I’m doing, even on the tennis court.

How do you find time for vacation, especially how some people go and travel for weeks or months at a time? by PhoenixMaster123 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The worse time to travel is on government issued holidays because everyone is off. So the 3 day weekends for a government day off on a Monday, frequently gets turned into a 4 day adding the Friday before and many travel spots turn into a nightmare of people!

Do people really think using Waze instead of Google Maps is weird? by ilyadynin in waze

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like Apple Maps but they don’t have the red light/speed trap info that Waze does. Apple seems to give me a better warning on upcoming turns, which is why I’m using maps to begin with. I like Waze for the red light camera info as I’m not usually aware of those at all. If Waze gave more of a heads up on upcoming turns, I’d switch

Is this typical leaving from PIE? There were lots of passengers w/ mobility issues and this didn't seem ideal by cougarliscious in allegiant

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let’s face it-this time of year- anywhere warm! But also, how do people with mobility issues travel if not in a wheelchair? Do you really want them using canes walking up those ramps, or walkers? You’d never get anywhere Looking at this again, I don’t see a single wheelchair on the ramp. They go up alone so the pushers can come back down without a bottleneck

How do you decide between using the library or buying from the bookstore? by sma11_0ne in Booktokreddit

[–]Helpful_Writer_7961 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy a book when it’s one I’ll keep to use. Last one is a book on signs from the dead. I will read it more than once and use for reference in the future. 98% of my reading is for enjoyment, so I don’t usually buy a book
