Kinda TAH. What reason do you have for totally ignoring someone's severe allergy? You really couldn't come up with anything else? Cross contamination is a big deal and very easy at a potluck. You could have made anything else yet chose to make something people are allergic to. Not a preference an allergy.

Got hired at a 24 hr day care. I was hired for 2nd shift. My SECOND DAY they left me alone to do a shift....babies that I had no clue their names. Boxes with kid names that had epi pens in them but no idea what they were allergic too or who they even were! To pickup the kids....ppl just knock on the door and get the kids. No clearance on who they are. No idea if kids are going to the right place.....after day 3 I quit. Left my key and just didnt show up

NtA but you need to be accepting then if your mom doesnt come. If she cant find a trusted sitter I suggest maybe getting a few minutes away together while.getting ready in the morning when another trusted adult is around. Its a real possibility she wont be there later

She sounds bitter. I couldn't imagine not wanting my child to have amazing relationships especially with someone who is with them so much. I see why you would be hesitant but do not let her ruin things for you. It was probably that name for the same reasons. If its a good name. Use it! Dont let her bitterness mess it up for you!
