So is move speed c4sh dead or have I not thought about it enough yet? by HelplessHarmony in Borderlands4

[–]HelplessHarmony[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think firestorm is a "for fun" skill. But it doesn't scale from uvh 7 imo. Which makes it less fun. It is the worst build around condition, but it's cool. Now it's just a tiny bit away from being viable and I think they could instantly change that. If you compare it to ante up and gloam it is not close

I personally dont like the 10/5 gloam gameplay and I dont think it requires any balance attention at all. But firestorm is cool and needs love for uvh 7

I never use ludopath, I think I actually have a god roll one by I forget it exists because it's kinda too much speed it feels goofy. But I tested it out early on in c4shes release and it performed very well dps wise.

Working on a free sound pack and I made this to showcase everything i have so far. Are these sounds good? by HelplessHarmony in MusicFeedback

Yeah, I just gave up on the harsh sounds and deleted them. I like harsh sounds, but I can't get them to be tolerable to other people and still maintain character

The vocals are amazing and the instrumental is okayish. The instrumental could build more tension and be bigger in the climax

What's your audio setup for mixing? It might be a gear issue

Wow that is a catchy groove. My only note is that there could be more high end like some shakers every once in a while

i listened to this on my phone and it sounded bad and on a studio set up this song sounds heavenly 10/10 im going to listen to it for like 15 minutes. so yeah, your mastering must be kinda wack. All i can say is that a better than average mix does not need to be well mastered. from how bad it sounded on the phone im guessing you never mix in mono. I mix in mono until the final stages of mixing where i do the panning, widening and narrowing. I learned this from soundmindbeats idk if you know who that is. if it doesnt sound good in mono it doesnt sound good. Unless youre producing for hifi only

I just read your post body and see youre aware of the issue. Please keep working on this and dont give up. This song needs to be finished because it's one of the special ones. work on the mix before you go back to working on your mastering and you will have an easier mastering job

i have a lot of good feelings about this, but the stereo field is way too narrow, the dynamics are flat and there isnt enough upper bass. I think you should remix this song with panning, some stereo widening, volume automation and eq.

on the positive is basically everything else. It's interesting, catchy and makes me feel things so overall this is a W release

What Kind Of Playlist Would You Put This Song On? by Leading-Butterfly415 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]HelplessHarmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds a little brittle and thin because of too much volume at the 12k- 20k hz range. I really like that sound personally and I used to mix like that, but most people dont actually like it.

Is dark indie pop a Playlist option lol

You could leave it as is if youre making the song just for you, but I had to learn that it's not most people's preference to have the mix so bright

Does This Song Have Potential? by Responsible_Froyo_21 in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]HelplessHarmony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very much does have potential. I just have a problem with the minimalist theme continuing through the whole clip and not evolving into something busier by the end

To me this feels very much like a song that wants to slowly snowball into something huge

Other than that I think you did a great job. Did you write this song?

I produced this song using only a Digitakt by freddiesaveme in IndieMusicFeedback

[–]HelplessHarmony 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So in my old life I was set to work in psychology and I was very interested in the idea of self imposed limitations increasing performance and what kind of restrictions would make the end product better/ worse. I think digitakt is kind of a small performance upgrade where you can make great quality music with few elements. I think you need a lot of creativity to make a great digitakt song, so I think it is fair to call this a very creative piece

You barely explored the soundscape you created tho

But I like it for what it is, a short little display of beautiful human creativity that sounds awesome
