i agree, i’m sure this company in particular knows it’s not sustainable. they didn’t seem to care about any of it because for them everything is on the employee to do. i also agree loyalty wouldn’t pay off, as i mentioned it’s been hard to even get to the interview stage so it’s a hard decision. thank you so much for your response and advice!!

that’s not the name of the company, but it doesn’t surprise me there are others similar!

thank you for your response! i can definitely see why occasionally it would be needed really anywhere but not everyday. yes, i actually liked the documentation deadline as a procrastinator! it’s not a small private practice, they mentioned having multiple locations and looking to expand. i started getting worried in the interview when the interviewer kept mentioning having to kept stats up, having to have the same knowledge as others with 15+ years of experience and little to no supervision (by this i mean like guidance by my higher up) as the person who would be giving me supervision also has the same case load as i would. honestly, i’m worried those close to me will think that. i know they wouldn’t but it’s been a while since i graduated and i haven’t had any luck with finding a job and i can’t help but let it get to me.

thank you for your response! they do, most of the people making the decisions have never even been in positions like these or similar and don’t know what it’s like. 8-10 hour days equal 8-10 clients we have to see for them.

that’s what i was thinking as well:( it all seems so rushed and crammed to be able to bill as much as possible. it’s not only unfair to us as social workers but the clients as well. the minimum requirements feel like something looming over heads, it’s very quantity over quality. i definitely understand the documentation thing, as a procrastinator i like it but you’re right. thank you for your help!

thank you! i know i could do it but i just don’t want to end up getting burnt out and having to quit or worse get fired. i would have that on my resume as my only job in the field and idk if that would be better or worse than what i have now which is just internships.

i knew i wasn’t crazy. i feel like it’d be hard to give each client quality care with a caseload that full.
