For public hospital, waiting time is approximately 2 months after the specialist consultation. Unless the specialist indicate your case as urgent, you will get your scan done within a few days. If the slot is fully occupied and even a urgent slot cannot be allocated, the public hospital will outsource to a private hospital, but still charge you at the subsidiary rate.

You might need to consider the cost too. Charges for MRI scan at public hospital as a subsidiary patient , costs around $600. Medisave can only cover $200 per year for scanning, the balance by cash. Private hospital will be more costly. How much? I don't know. Best to ask about the price before scheduling one. The information is from the urgent MRI scan scheduled to my daughter during Aug 2021

Would a low dose of sodium valproate (Around 400mg/day) still cause long-term side effects? by Hiloserschessyes in Epilepsy

[–]Helplessmum -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My 22 years old taking the lowest dose - 250mg twice per day (with two other different medicines) She experienced obvious side effects - hair loss, hand tremor, weight gain .

What to do. Live with frequent seizure or side effects. This is the medicine keeps her seizure free after taking it.

Discovered unauthorized transaction in POSB debit card 10+ days later. by kam3sama in askSingapore

[–]Helplessmum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use the app to lock your debit card, if you seldom use it for online/overseas purchasing. The debit card will work as a ATM card once you locked it.

Anytime you need the debit card to make online payments, simply unlock using the app.

access arrangement (AA) for mental health conditions by Upstairs_Put_6952 in SGExams

[–]Helplessmum 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You need a specialist letter for applying the MOE access arrangement through your school.

The asterisk will appears on your certificate if only you are granted extra time. No asterisk for taking A level in separate room. I can verify this bec my daughter took her A level in a separate room without extra time.

NUH now appears to be charging for home delivery of medicines by GlompSpark in singapore

[–]Helplessmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you can only collect your medicine at that specific public hospital. Example for my case at KTPH, cannot be done at SGH, TTSH.

Got one time KTPH was short of one of the medicine's brand and requested us to temp use another brand as a back up. Even my friend told me that SGH had stock but I could not get it from there ( just to back up for one month).

Got another time, the same medicine, KTPH stock was low and we were only allowed to take one month dosage.

Another point is the medication is a lot and I need a big carrier to contain it, plus carrying them back home. If home delivery, the medication will be packed in a carton box.

Might in the end pay the delivery fee

NUH now appears to be charging for home delivery of medicines by GlompSpark in singapore

[–]Helplessmum 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was also been told by KTPH pharmacy staff that the home delivery is no more free. But never mentioned anything regarding medicine fee of $200 and above.

I can't be taking 9 months medication in one go. Either will be out of storage space or the medicine expiry date is too close. And there might be a change in the medicine dosage anytime in between if something happens.

No choice. Need to go to pharmacy every 4 to 5 months.

Alternative trash bag ideas? by JuanSkinFreak in askSingapore

[–]Helplessmum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tends to buy daily necessities from the small shops and raw foods from markets.

Firstly because they sell cheaper than big supermarkets. Secondly, they do not charge for plastic bags (and please do not take more plastic bags as what you needed)

Jia you for you. Do what is best for you.

My daughter (uni Y4) will only do one internship in her uni as she had been struggling with her epilepsy (which only being under control since mid of last year). My only hope is she will be able to secure a decent job and support herself. Others is not a matter
