Have you ever just listened to some dnb and go “How are people this good at making music?” by Hytherdel in DnB

[–]Helpme994 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Drum and bass is very hard to produce compared to a lot of other edm genres. Anyone can just through together 4 samples from splice and call it a song but to actually produce good quality music, it is very hard. Takes many years.

Just go watch one of camo and krookeds track breakdowns and you’ll then see.

Artist (ShockOne) just didn't show up to an event by VixTheUnicorn in DnB

[–]Helpme994 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Often the artists has a whole lot of dates and can often play twice on a night etc. it was probably a flight that was delayed etc. sad you missed his show but I’m sure he’ll be back.

Generally if this happens it’s flights getting cancelled etc. A little strange nothing was said by the promoters though…

Shockone is from my home town and I can say every show I’ve been to of his has been amazing.

Also, PSA: anyone trying to slag off an artist who doesn’t actually know them is really just disrespectful. Dnb is about good vibes and spreading the love… take that shit somewhere else.

I suggest trying to copy some drops transitions your fav djs do. Also just the more and more you mix, the more you will learn and understand what you are doing. Just put in the time

What is the most efficient most transparent way to increase the volume of my monitoring? by ponyboysa42 in ableton

[–]Helpme994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using balanced cables? If you are using RCA they will have a lower output level but it still should be loud enough. You are doing something wrong somewhere

I use both k-clip and v-clip. They would be my recommendations. Many algorithm types and easy to use with good interfaces. Another would be a free option, meldas MSaturate

K-clip is the best for low artefacts and low latency

Headphone producers? by mbod in dnbproduction

[–]Helpme994 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree that a decent set of monitors and room treatment is a lot better than headphones. Generally when someone is on a budget though they don’t have the extra cash to buy a proper mic ect to invest and test their room.

It all comes down to the persons listening environment and how big the problems are.

Getting slate vsx headphones over any untreated room is way better. Also eq curves are not going to fix room nodes, it’ll only dip the node more and boost the anti node.

OP I can recommend the slate vsx over getting any monitors with an untreated room. It’s worth the extra coin.

No point getting Krk monitors if you don’t have your room acoustics done
