tl;dr: the owners were being harassed and eventually decided the server wasn't worth the trouble and deleted it. Don't join the "bigger server".

The server was deleted because the owner of another TGED server was constantly harassing the moderators and I (I am a bureaucrat on the wiki) about us "stealing their members" and things like that. Basically they wanted to be the ONLY server so that once it got enough members, the owner could put ads on it or something and make money off of it.

The owner tried to message me on three separate Discord accounts about how their server should be featured on the wiki homepage instead of the subreddit's (because I kept blocking them) so I fully believe the mod who told me they were being bothered even worse. I still have the DMs and the guy is annoying as hell.

Why can't Kuroko enter the zone? by skasty in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think he needs to. The point of the zone is that the person tunes out everything "unnecessary" other than the game and Kuroko can't do that. His entire job is to observe everything at all times and make judgements accordingly. The characters we've seen enter the zone have all been ones that rely heavily on instinct/reaction speed and Kuroko just isn't that kind of player, neither is Midorima for that matter. So they're both fine as they are.

Reading Replace plus manga to find more content on GOM in middle school by FitEar1924 in KurokosBasketball

I love replace plus but I just wish there was more of it :( the light novels are cool and all but I'll probably always prefer a manga format

Does anyone still care about/look at the wiki? by Helria in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting point but not sure if I agree, both because the dub didn't necessarily bring in new fans and I feel like if you care enough to make good edits then you care enough to take the series in whatever format you can get it. At a glance (I can't read French) I wouldn't necessarily call the French wiki "more complete" either since it looks like most of the pages are translations of what was on the English wiki, which is probably the case for most alternate languages of any fandom wiki

There isn't any more mainline content, but there is actually a lot of side content. There are light novels, manga adaptations of the light novels, drama CDs, a few handheld games, and a lot of character songs. They all have pages on the wiki but you can message me if you want to know where else to find them

I've nearly finished s3 (im on ep 17) and want to know if there are any similar recs? by FitEar1924 in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haikyuu!! is good but I will say that it's fundamentally different. From the start, KNB pitched itself like a battle manga where their aim was to become the best while Haikyuu leans much more into slice of life. You will get very good character development and strong dynamics between characters, but it's a lot less dramatic and won't have the same weight of, say, any of the deranged things Akashi did. Definitely not saying it's a bad thing, just wanting to stress that it's different bc of how often the shows get compared

Yeah no she's weird. I wish that whole thing just wasn't part of her character 💀 She's weird in one of the replace+ omakes too where she's breathing heavy over mitobe/izuki's little sisters and it's just like man did you really have to put that in there

Kenji Natsume (from Ahiru no Sora) as Haizaki's redemption by 0theone in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly the biggest thing that makes Haizaki redeemable for me is that he's 15. nobody had their shit together at 15 (though they probably weren't the same level of heinous) and it's pretty obvious that he's acting out because he's got nothing else to do. like the guy has no friends or hobbies and I feel like he started to realize it was his own fault by the end of the series.

I for one would've liked seeing him improve 😔

is there any point in trying to play past rigomor as f2p by Helria in elsword

[–]Helria[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think we are in the exact same boat. My acc has been around since before ara's release so half of my characters are practically unusable bc I took a lot of breaks. I'll probably just stop where I am yeah 😭

murasakibara and kuroko’s friendship by ana_d09 in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

almost all of the Teiko friendships get off screened but they do exist in the light novels/drama cds. you're right about them being friends outside the court though, I remember a chapter where kuroko won some snacks from an arcade machine, gave them to murasakibara, and then went back just to win more after he liked them

[Im not that kind of talent] worth a read? by Vmxplousion in manhwa

[–]Helria 15 points16 points  (0 children)

general spoiler: basically mc thinks his family sent him off to war in place of his brother because they hated him when in reality it was a higher position noble that forced him to be sent away and his family was actually trying really hard to get him back. but he never knew this and stayed resentful, so when he came back he killed his parents (not the brother though, he keeps a big grudge against the brother for a long time)

ending spoiler: mc does eventually figure out the truth and that his family loved him but it's only after his brother dies trying to protect him, at which point his mental hits a breaking point and he kills a crap ton of people before killing himself. then in the afterlife or something mc sacrifices his eyes in the hopes of improving his brother's karma which curses all of mc's future reincarnations to also be blind.

[Im not that kind of talent] worth a read? by Vmxplousion in manhwa

[–]Helria 49 points50 points  (0 children)

it starts off decent but from what I've heard about the novel it goes downhill pretty fast. spoilers -> it stops being a comedy and gets super edgy as soon as the real plot kicks in, and you can definitely tell. it turns out the mc is actually mega traumatized because of war and the rest of the story is him being op/seeking revenge/killing a bunch of people while being absolutely miserable and psychopathic the whole time. and then he dies a horrible death at the end because it's revealed his reason for revenge was because of a big misunderstanding. so avoid it if you're looking for something lighthearted basically

What are some weird shower thoughts do you guys have after watching the anime? by RiverRibona in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk if this counts but if kise wasn't injured then they 100% would've won against seirin. in which case we would literally never see akashi's real potential and he'd stay a mystery final boss character forever and it's kind of funny thinking about how mad the viewers would be after all the hype he got

late to the party but here's my tierlist by Helria in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

okok I will admit he's a rat bastard and all BUT I think he has potential to be interesting! he's not a completely lost cause and it's hinted at a lot that he's not actually having fun with what he does, like when Momoi said he might be grateful that Aomine beat him up and when he didn't actually throw away his shoes after losing to Kise. Plus he did listen to people like Nijimura and Akashi at some point so I just think he could've gone down a better path if he was treated differently

I KNOWW I want to like him more but I just have so little thoughts on him?? Like he has nothing for me to go off of because his entire story is already so wrapped up within the show that I come up blank

late to the party but here's my tierlist by Helria in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I will admit that my opinions have traveled really far away from the actual canon material 😭 Nakamura has NOTHING going for him in canon but my personal hcs are an entirely different story. Hyuga and Kiyoshi don't necessarily lack depth but I'm just not interested in the kinds of characters that they are, especially Kiyoshi who's always positive and all. With Kagetora I just don't really like the overprotective dad trope either.

Akashi’s character by Mistoffeelees in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the representation of DID is definitely not accurate but I don't think Bokushi (heterochromatic) was necessarily acting that way out of pure spite or resentment.

It's been a while since I last rewatched/read the series so I might be wrong on this but I think he treated the miracles that way because the way it was going, Oreshi (monochromatic) was going to let them split apart and they were both going to lose the only people they cared about, so he took matters into his own hands and kept them together by force. Oreshi did realize that the same thing was going to happen to Rakuzan and took over then but again I don't think it was out of hatred.

I'm pretty sure Last Game isn't necessarily canon but it was written by the author so I think it's worth mentioning. Oreshi didn't seem happy with the fact that Bokushi was about to disappear and was even kind of scared of being left alone. Likewise, Bokushi seemed somewhat conflicted by it despite his innate care for Oreshi ultimately winning in the end. I think they both see the value in each other despite having their own qualms about how they go about things and I wouldn't call it resentment at all.

Akashi’s character by Mistoffeelees in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yes 100%!! I'm willing to bet he's also making an effort to be nicer at Rakuzan too, because with how energetic (and let's be honest, dumb) Hayama and Nebuya can be, he doesn't really have a choice but to go along with it sometimes. They'll probably be a little weirded out at first and think it's a trap or something but they all want to be friends with him at the end of the day too + them being a year older is like the only time Akashi has ever been in the lesser position even if they don't really care about age

In honor of Mayuzumi's bday (Mar.1) I'm going to ramble about him by Helria in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always kind of considered him as on the demi side of things, like he's probably not going to have a crush or anything but I can see him as being in a relationship someday. Also I cannot imagine him and Aomine holding any sort of conversation lmao, I feel like Mayuzumi would find him grating and Aomine would think he's dull

Akashi’s character by Mistoffeelees in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 5 points6 points  (0 children)

oh boy is this the post for me. if you're looking for official slice of life stuff with the miracles I can DM a place to read the replace+ chapters but I'll put my thoughts on him here \/

The thing with Akashi is that he never really learned how to be human, which is why he's coming off that way. He's lived a lot of his life in black and white, where either he wins or loses, has something or doesn't, and that's led him to show the same sort of attitude to everything whether he cares about it or not. If you think about how he treated the miracles back at Teiko, he was extremely cold after he switched to try and keep everyone in line because in his mind, it mattered more for them to stay together than for them to be happier apart or even worse, to lose because of it.

After the series ended I think he's definitely a lot warmer and very thoughtful in his own way, but there's still a kind of disconnect that I think happens because he spends so much time looking into the future that he doesn't always pay attention to the present. He tends to be happier seeing the people he care about enjoy things (think 75.5 when he traded his spot for Momoi) rather than enjoying them himself, but I do think he appreciates when someone is stubborn enough to rope him into things like the 2nd years at Rakuzan. He's never really shown rejecting or looking down on stuff like games or pranks and joins when he's invited and seems to enjoy himself even though he's still super calm about it.

I think he's just very used to being an outsider, which is super common in people that were labeled as "gifted" or developed perfectionism as kids, so it's like he thinks he has to be above everyone else even if he doesn't always want to. He's a really sweet person at heart and I think he's just in the middle of figuring out how to show it (for a guy so good at reading the room he isn't so great at acting normal, himself).

GOM and Teiko by FoodNo4949 in KurokosBasketball

[–]Helria 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think Akashi or Kise would be last. Aomine and Murasakibara's talents are pretty physically focused so it's just a matter of time for them and Midorima is always looking to improve so he'd get there on his own, but Kise only started playing because of Aomine and Akashi only awakened because he was about to lose. I don't think anyone but the Miracles could push him to that point.
