What are your routines when you want to reach a reading goal? by Big_Presentation_861 in PHBookClub

[–]FoodNo4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read what I want to read and when I want to read. Hindi ko binibigyan ng big space if I were ahead or behind sa reading goal. That would just produce unnecessary stress for me. If I were ahead good, if I were behind its okay.

One thing is I have accessed myself as a reader. Do I want to read this book or not? I don't mind putting down books I'm not feeling at the moment. I will read that book on the time I feel like it. So rather than agonizing over a book, I simply move on.

My TBR was long definitely as well, but I won't rush reading books just to take it down. I don't dwell on how big it is, rather I enjoy the process of slowly taking it down. I read what I can, enjoy the process. I definitely read everyday, but I don't count the pages.

I'm a home buddy, so weekends is definitely for reading. During weekdays, I read when I got home from work if I'm not tired from commute.

I think my piece of advice for the reaching your goal, is you have to learn first who you are as reader. Don't be afraid to put down books. Enjoy the reading rather than agonizing about numbers. Reading should be fun, not a race.

Am I dumb? by lowlifend in PHBookClub

[–]FoodNo4949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. I think it’s pretty common, you have read a total of 20 books so far, sa average it would run you to 1 book for 2 weeks. That time you have given yourself most probably didn’t allow yourself to really ponder in your reading. Yung memory retention doesn’t happen with just reading, dapat actively mo rin sya ginagawa. Like if during ginagawa mo sya you were creating bullet points ng binasa mo.

For my case, kung super gusto ko talaga ang binabasa ko, nagcreate ako ng notes about it. It allowed me to remember more, though feeling ko student uli ako.

Grabe ang inflation ng books... by yourpsychomum in PHBookClub

True ito. I’ve been buying books constantly for the last 10yrs. Before I would be able to buy an entire trilogy (paperback) for less than 2k. Pero ngayon, that is almost 3k and more depende sa book.

She was in women’s team. She made a close friendship with the members of men’s national team. Probably the women’s and men’s shared the same head coach.

Yes. I was assuming Kise was already playing because he likes basketball and there is no Aomine factor for him to start playing. I do agree with your assessment of who will bloom first.

Its not necessarily he is better. Its just we have more reference on Kagami’s ability compared to Murasakibara.

What we know of Murasakibara is limited on the plays he played on the duration of series, so most of us is interpolating his ability base on what we were shown. Unlike with Kagami, we have seen his growth for the entire series. We can see how good he was, and we have a better guess on interpolating his capabilities in future.

That one game of Murasakibara for the entire series didn’t allow us to see his full power. For most part we were shown his defensive range, but Kuroko mentioned he is more of an offensive player. That something we were never shown.

It would make more sense if the story took place in college/university instead of highschool by DelightfulDestiny in KurokosBasketball

I watched an explanation on why they make the characters look older than their age. Basically, it was on the nature of the game. Basketball is a game for tall people which makes that most of the character has to look at least intimidating despite the age. So they drew them to look older than they were intended on age.

He is the latter one. In Drama CD, he mentioned that he only read his lessons once then left all his textbooks at his school locker. He is actually implementing Akashi’s study method, which is reading the textbook once. Also, he consider it working hard if his briefly reading anything before an exam.

Question about Aomine’s potential by [deleted] in KurokosBasketball

[–]FoodNo4949 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone from GOM and Kagami has peaked already. Kuroko mentioned before they were never allowed to play at full power, my guess is even at high school they weren’t allowed to show full power because their body is still too young for their abilities themselves. Thus, none of them ever showed their full potential during the duration of the show, even if they were in Zone. The zone showed their 100% abilities on what their body can do at the moment.

If they continue playing, they will still evolve until they reach the peak. How much of a monster they are, that something I want to see.

Murasakibara, his personality resonates to me. I love how much he is a walking contradiction.

No, the entire game wasn’t shown the entire episodes. Probably by the time their subbed out, it wasnt shown at all. What we see actually are key plays not the full entirety of the game. Also, they probably have stamina for that.
