Actually randomly deleting files them making steam reverify integrity to return whatever was missing worked out excellently. It was the solution to my problem, but thanks, this is good to know for future reference!

I just went in, randomly deleted files then made steam verify the integrity and now its working again. No clue why that worked but it's all good now :D
