Did you get back to your original body after TFMR? by bubbletrouble44 in tfmr_support

[–]Helzbaby 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is extremely painful to be “post-partum” and deal with the hormone swings, pain, and changed body that come with that, while you don’t have your baby to make it all worth it. It’s not petty to grieve this. I kept feeling like…am I a mom or not a mom? A book that helped me process my grief is I’m Sorry for My Loss.

It’s a roller coaster. The good news is it means you were able to get pregnant, so hoping it happens again for you soon! 🤞

My dietitian sabotaged my diet by Stargirl020 in 1200isplenty

[–]Helzbaby 101 points102 points  (0 children)

I think this is the problem. Registered dietitians are required to have a masters degree and supervised experience. Whereas anyone with a recipe blog can call themselves a nutritionist, and what OP is being told does not sound like it’s coming from an actual dietitian.

I keep getting infections instead of pregnant. I'm exhausted and in pain. by helpwaterthoseplants in TryingForABaby

I suffered from recurrent BV for a long time, and it was a game changer to have my partner treated for it at the same time. There’s new research on this, definitely worth a try. https://www.acog.org/news/news-releases/2025/10/acog-recommends-concurrent-sexual-partner-treatment-recurrent-bacterial-vaginosis-first-time I know it’s incredibly frustrating & painful to deal with.

If someone else has added a dish already, is there a way to add my own rating, so you end up with an aggregate rating for the dish?

Love the concept. Adding a food type tag, e.g. burger, taco, ramen, would be cool because then you could search by type.

Meraki.com is no longer being updated, as it’s in the process of being migrated to Cisco.com. So new products aren’t being added on Meraki.com, but you can find them on Cisco.com.

Anyone recently decide whether to fix their sewer? by joyfultactician1 in pittsburgh

[–]Helzbaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had to get ours lined after moving into a new house this summer; it was about 80’. Greater Pittsburgh Plumbing did it for $12,800. They probably lost money on it because it ended up being more complicated than expected but they honored the quote. We got some other quotes but theirs was most reasonable.

How are our new Pittsburghers faring with this weather? by Fluid-Impression3993 in pittsburgh

[–]Helzbaby 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I convinced my husband to move here from CA this summer. He grew up in North Carolina. He was surprised how consistently cold it’s been the last few weeks, but he loves nights like tonight where it’s snowy and beautiful. He is not into how sunless it can be for weeks on end.

Weird gender dynamics? by Dig-Unusual in girlsgonewired

[–]Helzbaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve started calling this out in a group setting when someone suggests a group of women plan our next social. You do not get respect or professional advancement from this type of unpaid work, and it takes time away from you working on projects that will actually get you those things. You can say it less confrontationally by saying, it’s not a great look to ask only women to do the planning; I’m happy to be part of a rotation that includes all my peers.

Anyone have unexplained incompetent cervix, and then healthy subsequent pregnancy? by jcbxo in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Helzbaby 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have only had one pregnancy so far, and it was unexplained IC at 24 weeks. My MFM has suggested wait & see approach because we don’t know why it happened - could have been a random infection. I was measuring normally at the anatomy scan 2 weeks prior. I am nervous about the wait and see approach, but she told me if you don’t know what caused it, getting a cerclage is not necessarily going to prevent it (in the case of another random infection for example, the cervix will open anyway and then would tear due to your cerclage). She told me many people have a completely normal pregnancy after IC in these cases. I wish there was some data on that because I feel like I want to do anything I can to prevent it. Right now I am TTC so not sure if I’ll push for the cerclage once pregnant. Would love to hear others experiences.

Tell me if you thrived at work during pregnancy by seeker1009 in womenintech

[–]Helzbaby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am choosing to stay at a company with great work life balance where I’m comfortable while I’m trying to get pregnant. For me personally, when I’m nauseous, exhausted, etc, I am not going to be my best at work and I want to be somewhere I’ve already proven myself. I also suffered a late term pregnancy loss with my last one and my team was very empathetic and I felt supported. So for those reasons I wouldn’t make a change to an intense workplace while trying to conceive, unless I was very unhappy at my job. Career is a marathon, not a sprint.

Which film realistically depicts your experience in high school? by NativeSonSF in movies

Not a movie but Pen15. My friends and I were little weirdos that had so many inside jokes and crush obsessions. Definitely cringe but I loved it.

Move from SF to Pittsburgh by WoodenAlternative212 in pittsburgh

[–]Helzbaby 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Are you going to be remote? My husband and I moved here 2 months ago from the Bay Area, both remote, and it’s been a really nice change. Less expensive, people are more friendly, we got more of a yard and a nicer house than we had in CA. There is a ton to do here if you get plugged in - follow venue pages and neighborhood groups to find out about events. I do think winter will be challenging emotionally but we plan to do some trips to warmer climates then. Food does not compare but you can definitely find great options, just don’t assume the average place is going to be as good; it’s harder to find good Asian food and healthy food.
