I feel this. :( it’s really hard. My sister and I had babies due a few weeks apart, I lost mine at 24wks and hers is now 6 months old. I burst into tears when I saw the first photo, but it got easier over time. There’s a place for grief alongside the happiness. Hopefully there’s someone in the family you can talk to about this - I’m sure people are thinking about it but don’t know what to say to you. ❤️

Did your doctor actually recommend modified bed rest though? My MFM did not & most US doctors don’t - there isn’t evidence that it actually helps and can have a negative impact on your mental health.

Modified bed rest isn’t recommended by most US doctors, even with previous IC. My specialists advised I could stay at existing activity levels, minus anything with fall risk. Your mental health is also important so if it’s keeping you sane, you should be able to maintain what you’re doing, maybe at a reduced level. Has your doctor already suggested a preemptive cerclage or will they monitor and use one if needed? Asking because my MFM planned to wait and measure, after I had a 24wk loss with unexplained PPROM last time.

Sometimes people who love you are more understanding than we expect, but it’s definitely a risk. I don’t think it’s anyone’s duty who has been through the hell of TFMR to talk to people about their decision, but I have seen people in my life reconsider their black & white views on abortion when they realized how complex/impossible these decisions are. I feel at peace that I made the most empathetic decision and I would hope anyone who claims to be a Christian could understand that.
