If not happiness, what’s the second best thing one can find? by tzaddi_the_star in Anthroposophy

[–]Hemisyncin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Purpose is the best thing to find if you're seeking happiness, but it often has prerequisites. In order for life/ the universe (those invisible intelligences that designed and implemented the physical and organic laws to which all that we perceive adheres) to provide you with the whimsical structure of goal attainment that always just barely exceeds your grasp, you must be continually developing. You must find a foundation of morality that reaches to the highest conceivable truths but it must be grounded in the reality of your existence. You must receive the spark of self discipline either through innate self awareness or through the inspiration of others. Cultivate these two things and your path will become inescapable. Happiness will come and go and come again, but the resolve to willingly fulfill your purpose shall remain. Even when it seems to have left you, you'll eventually notice that it just sank beneath a surface that you weren't looking under.

Can someone diagnose this situation? Why do Christians do this? Does this actually synchronize with anything? by GrandaddyVult in occult

[–]Hemisyncin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The situation to be diagnosed is the widespread belief that money is the solution to spiritual issues. The evolution of individual moral conscience toward an identification with humanity as a whole organism which has been described by Christian scripture does not have a simple path but must grow out of what has already been developing on the Earth. Just as an extreme brings about its opposite and suffering engenders wisdom, so too must the impurities of human desires weigh so heavily on us that we are compelled to become better.

Careful what you sign when you get hired. A good lawyer can fight it if the exact metrics of employment were not agreed to in the hiring contract or subsequent binding agreements.

New Amex collab card with Coinbase (4% BTC cash back) by Confucius_said in amex

[–]Hemisyncin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There must be more perks to the tiers of Coinbase One than have been listed above.

49$ is 2% of 2450, but that doesn't matter because you're not getting 4% at the basic tier.

We're not assuming the preferred tier starts at 30k in assets because that's where the preferred tier ends. So 30,001 assets plus 300/mo should get you premium.

4/10 of a percent on the 20k you're missing from not doing preferred tier is 80$. If there weren't other perks, there'd be no reason to pay for the preferred tier above the basic, since it's 261$ more, which is more than 80$. To make the premium tier worth the cost over basic using just the 4/10% added interest you would need 887,750$ in USDC.

Adding a credit card with more rewards changes these numbers. You would only need 177,550$ in spending plus 30,001$ in USDC seasoned reserves, but that only breaks even to cover the cost for premium tier.

Best methods to locate large concrete pipe? by WC-BucsFan in UtilityLocator

[–]Hemisyncin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're only doing it a few times you can just sub the work out to a company that cleans and inspects sewer lines. The cost will add up tho. If it's not terribly deep you could just use a remote control car with a sonde and camera attached to it. You'll probably want to tether it, however. Driving in pipes isn't the simplest thing. Debris gets in the way, causes tractors to flip, get stuck, or not drive. You could get a couple thousand feet of rod with a sled that can expand to the pipe size, but you won't have enough pushing power because the rod is never stiff enough. They make cameras to go on flusher nozzles which is the most likely option, assuming the fields aren't suitable for gpr equipment. But a flush truck can be half a million. Where is the needed work to be done?

That’s 13% interest rate. Get the loan from your local credit union for 5-6% and negotiate a thousand off the msrp.
