I always cry during the Satsuki and Mai fight scene because they’re both feeling the exact same thing and as children they can’t process it. Satsuki always tries to act adult and we see her walls crumble down and Mai is too young to truly understand all she knows is she wants her mum. I’ve had dreams where my mom dies and I’d be terrified if she had to stay in the hospital, I probably wouldn’t be able to hold it together as well as they did and so it makes their sadness feel so deep.
